I don't want to adapt.

BlackCrayon 11-03-2009 02:33 PM

when people start running out of straws to grab at they start taking them out of the hands of those who already grabbed some long ago.

PenisFace 11-03-2009 02:34 PM

I hate to agree with you. Tube's keep popping up and grabbing sub 100 alexa rankings overnight. 50% of the programs I sign up to push have hidden goddamed cross sales all over the place, pretty much ensuring that any surfer who gets snagged by them will never, ever buy porn online again...

And to top it off, my entire network just disapeared from google  I wasn't doing anything against their TOS. Those cock suckers.

Good thing mainstream is just as lucrative as ever. :disgust

Problem is the industry is full of lazy ass copycats who want to do as little as possible and have zero moral compass as they automatically figure if you are in adult and have morals that in itself is hypocritical. Then again I am giving them to much credit.

They are fucking lazy. They can not come up with a concept of their own. Hence the giant rushes to what others are doing, TGP, Blogs, Link Lists, Tubes, Etc. However doing it the right way would cost both money and time/labor. So fuck it, steal and use crap to automate it all and make it all pure shit.

To think people would fucking harass me and call me all sorts of names when I was really pushing to tighten up the industry as a whole and not allow just anyone to join sponsors and walk into the business. We did so much to ourselves out of stupidity and quick greed.

Bake 11-03-2009 02:39 PM

They have allways been around these days there are just more people in the industry.
You cant even sell quaility sites with proven sales and traffic. People would rather just copy and steal. The greed that is in porn is much higher than most industries.
I believe it attracts the get rich quick mentality and when that fails greed and thieft comes next.

I hear you, I just saw AaliyahLove entire website ripped and put up on all the major torrents this morning, everything and the thing that bothered me the most about it was how impressive the presentation was of what the site rip consisted of... and how nice that it ended the post with

UP NEXT:
HayleysSecrets.com site-rip!

then the post under this is a video I shot... makes me just want to quit

Max Cannon 11-03-2009 02:48 PM

Why should you adapt? Sue, then tell them to adapt... :pimp

munki 11-03-2009 02:50 PM

My 2 cents... we as an industry stopped selling porn, and turned to money grabbing... oh well. Was fun while it lasted.

Loch 11-03-2009 02:51 PM

Start working with us man, and get that mainstream kind of quality treatment that has been lost in adult for 5 years!

12clicks 11-03-2009 02:52 PM

Will you damn newbies and or people who started in 2002-2006 or latter stop saying shit like it always was this way etc.

There was a period of time that if you even took 1 picture that was not yours and got caught, even on a gallery. You would get fucked on the boards, ripped a new asshole, and sometimes even black listed from places. Hell even programs would kill your account with a email or board posting. Fuck you could get driven out of the industry or forced to change your name if you used improper meta tags. Screw the idea of actually stealing shit.

There were some that did not know better and rarely did anything out of greed. They just did not understand and wanted to get into the industry so they would collect some celebrity shit or something from chat rooms or alt and make a site, often with no upsells to any paying sites. Again they did not know better.

Just do not coat it with a layer of shit because you want to justify today. It was not always this way.

When there is no law you have an abundance of criminals making money under the guise of opportunists. Sort of like the old west.

What's needed are internet sheriffs to start hanging the horse thieves. Replace the saying "son is that your horse?" with "son is that your content/property?"

Until internet criminals start to face the same consequences as brick and mortar thieves there is no end in site.

.

Tom_PM 11-03-2009 03:00 PM

When I got on the internet and searched "porn" "adult" "xxx", every page of results on the up and coming SE called Hot Bot was full page ads linked to other full page ads. After trying and trying to find free porn, I finally joined a paysite. It was clear to me back then that free porn was being kept tightly under wraps to get paying members and I was ok with that, as long as thats how it was.

That didnt last long did it. Now you can't swing a dead cat without hitting free porn.

I hear ya. I remember the early days of online in general and the bubble bursting. Also the version 1.0 of the internet going from free to pay and people back then complained, just like now, that people would not pay for shit they get for free.

They were wrong then. They are wrong now.

People who say that people will not pay I find where not in this industry back then, nor remember how the web was before say... 1999-2002 when the free internet started going away.... people had to PAY for bandwidth, and PAY for things they used, and had to SIGN UP for shit to get use of it.

The ad supported net. Um yeah, heard all this a decade ago. Failed then. Will fail now. There are not enough ads to support it. Which is why I laugh at all these article or posters talking about this shit. Already been tried pal. Doesn't work. The web costs money. Hosting, content, whatever... and you are going to PAY for that service.

Just like you see Murdock, and some of these newspapers starting to charge. YouTube will soon start charging as well for some kind of premium service. Just watch. A lot of things are going to start switching to this model within 2 years.

Time v'ill tell....

It is a wonderful thing when a company (NFL) actually, ya know, ENFORCE THEIR COPYRIGHTS. Oh yeah, and also follow it through to conclusion.

Well the NFL doesn't have to send a letter telling them to stop first either.

do you mean the time of circle jerks, dialers and xpics? as far as i know it was also very common to "collect" pics and put them up as your own paysite. i think you live in a dream world when you think it has been better in the past. it was just not as much by numbers since there were simply less people and less websites.

I think it was APIC right? I use to get notices all the time to shut down WM accounts cause of stolen content.

Jay if you want to leave so badly, then do it. You sold your network, just leave, get out. Do what makes you happy, just stop bringing everyone else down with you.

It's not adapt or die, it's innovate or die. Too many people got complacent with Adapt and never Innovate.

cherrylula 11-03-2009 03:41 PM

If you do business in any other industry, you will find it isn't much different.

I once had to sue a millionaire for $800 I fronted him merchandise for that he sold and kept the money. I won, but by the time I collected my profit was about $50.

it isn't this industry, its people.

2009: "That's adorable! You still buy CDs?"

2015: "That's adorable! You still watch porn on websites on your computer?"

Digital content is easily transportable by design. You can't put the cat back in the bag. Technology caught up, predictably, and made it possible to put a terabyte in your pocket.

Like you might pine for the days of no free porn, the RIAA pines for the days of forcing people to buy an hour of filler for the 3 minutes of killer.

Look at iTunes and its rivals: for 99 cents you can download almost any song you like. It corrects a broken system, forcing the product to catch up with technology. So now there's just a NEW group of middlemen with new and better channels to consumers' wallets. And those consumers are HAPPY to pay for it! EVEN THOUGH they could get it for free via P2P solutions!

The problem for the establishment, the labels and distributors, is that it limits their relevance and opportunity. They have become irrelevant. They will die.

When NetFlix and iTunes offer porn, we are DEAD. Until then, who will step in and be the NEW middleman for porn?

If you're a middleman -- and by operating websites you are -- then keep your eyes open.

The DMCA-rattling tubes are doing it in an ugly way, but they are winning hearts and minds. They are building brands that can become NetFlix or iTunes of porn by the time legislation catches up with reality (such that the harbor is made not so safe).

So I wonder... is it possible to build a VOD/NetFlix/iTunes-ish channel WITHOUT becoming a legislatively blessed stolen goods warehouse? Or is it TOO LATE???
