AIM & Licensed Adult Talent Agency Trade Association Fundraiser Wed. 11/11 @ Les Deux

Eight (8) Adult Industry Talent Agencies combine their power to bring the biggest fund-raiser bash the adult industry has ever seen!!!! RSVP ASAP!!!
Hollywood, Ca.

For Immediate Release: "This is Our Industry"

A fundraiser for the Licensed Adult Talent Agency Trade Association (L.A.T.A.T.A.) and the Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation (A.I.M. Healthcare) is going to be held on Wednesday, November 11th 2009 @ Les Deux Nightclub in Hollywood, Ca at 9pm.

Recently, the A.I.M. Healthcare Foundation has been the target of aggressive attacks by the Los Angeles County Department of Health (LACDH) and California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Cal-OSHA). Motivated by LA County Health's desire to get new funding and power to oversee all adult entertainment production, these began by inspection and probing of three (3) licensed talent agencies, by both LACDH and Cal-OSHA, seeking to obtain records on their producer clients and demanding the disgorgement of such records under the threat of issuance of citation for minor office space, work place violations. They did not do it! They hired attorneys and unified behind LATATA to protect themselves and the industry.

The industries first HIV positive case in five years was then identified in Patient Zero and the governmental effort re-focused on A.I.M. Healthcare because of the central nature of A.I.M. Healthcare to adult talent. As a result, A.I.M. Healthcare has now been embattled in a number of time consuming and expensive law suits to defend its very existence and protect its performer clients and their private medical records from such overreaching governmental intrusion.

Time to fight back! This fundraiser will help the adult industry in it?s fight against the very people that threaten to shut down A.I.M. Healthcare and, in effect, the progress of the adult industry in general! Awareness and support for this event is crucial and these proposed governmental obstructions would affect everyone in the industry from the production companies, agencies, talent, and studios etc.

Nine agencies have joined forces to help create extra money for this cause: L.A. Direct Models, GoldStar Modeling, Adult Talent Managers, Lisa Ann?s Talent Management, Spiegler Girls, Type 9 Models, World Modeling, A-List Talent, and Foxxx Modeling.
This is a red carpet event that will be hosted by representatives from each of the adult agencies. A star studded, who?s who of adult industry performers will be on hand to help raise proceeds.

Door proceeds for this event will be split equally between LATATA and AIM; donations to AIM alone at the event are most welcome and can be made with checks payable to AIM Healthcare Foundation.

Anonymous donations can be made by online via the AIM Website: www.AIM-Med.org , or mail checks directly to AIM Healthcare Foundation at 4630 Van Nuys Blvd Sherman Oaks, CA 91403 or by calling the AIM office with a credit card.
All donations are tax deductible as AIM Healthcare Foundation is a California Non Profit Benefit Corporation, Federal Status: 501 ( c ) (3).

Les Deux Nightclub is located at 1638 N. Las Palmas Ave. Hollywood, Ca. 90028. Red Carpet at 9pm. To R.S.V.P., Access media credentials, or for more information please email [email protected] .

They are paying legal fees, for producers such as yourself, so that Cal-Osha does not receive a daily schedule of all the shoots that are booked.

I am in full support of them.

They are protecting the welfare of the performers and producers, and helping to "clean up" our industry.

Dan but can you elaborate on that ? How is AIM fighting a fight that doesnt exist ? The motion to quash the Cal-OSHA SDT for patient Zero's records from AIM was already decided and Patient Zero was victorious....

Has Cal-OSHA filed an appeal ?

Will they be pushing for drug screening and mandatory full panel testing?

Dan we are boyz, but somebody is gonna make money off of this that shouldn't. Furthermore dont you think AIM should have saved their money from from the 1000 plus talent that pays $100+ per month??

What did they do with all off they money they made in the past??? Really?? And what ongoing fight are they fighting?? Just curious.

Porno Dan 11-12-2009 11:00 PM

This may have well been the biggest and best adult industry party of the year.

Thanks to everyone who came out.

Saw some footage on TMZ.
Puma Suede (name spelling?) and another porn star or two got some loving from Harvey saying their names, only he knew them.
Problem was NOBODY knew what the party/event was for. That alone is an EPIC FAIL

Half the money went to AIM. Half goes to LATATA. To be in LATATA you have to pay 2k in "membership dues".

I'm not sure what LATATA does with the money except "fight OCEA".

So if you think you smell something fishy, you do!

And it ain't just all of the porn girls!

:winkwink:

:2 cents:

They had camera footage which makes me think that they were there. I am only going by what I watched on TMZ's TV show. Harvey (think it was him who asked the kids) even asked what the party/gathering was for. None of the kids (twenty something staff members) knew what it was for, just had porn chicks.

So if the media that was in attendance could not tell the public what the show was for, something failed and failed in an epic way. Typically such an event would have some press kits available for the media. Something that would explain what the entire event was about. Especially if the event is about fighting a public agency (OSHA). Considering that the more information the press can give out the better off you are, after all they can and will reach more people than the event itself ever will. This is not a hard concept to understand.

OK I understood the OSHA ordeal and also know OSHA has not pursued it after the small press event. They just fired a warning shot. No lawyer will save your ass if OSHA really declares war against the industry. You either comply or they shut you down and bankrupt you. Not only is the law on their side, the laws are so fucked up in giving them power that they conflict with each other so that nobody can really comply.
Really feel the OSHA thing is a smoke screen.

I had to look up LATATA. Fuck me, it is a union for the talent agencies. All of their scare tactics page is about OSHA and things OSHA has talked about. I remember when the union material leaked. It is an obvious money and power grab by the talent agencies where they get to control the producers and the talent. If I recall outside talent would be black listed, so the Internet guys would be fucked as they want to be able to fine models and prevent them from getting work. Plus there was other issues I seem to recall about outside talent. Think it was something along the lines of if a model was not registered and booked through one of the agencies that producer could end up fined or blacklisted from hiring other models through them. There seemed to be a lot more mentioned in a post on here a couple months back.

Looks like this party raised all of $3,408.00 towards the "fight". The rest of the $19,628.00 they raised ($16,220.00) was raised by mailed in donations, roughly $7,500.00 of that was anonymous donations, plus a good chunk of the large donations were from talent agencies. Sort of donating to themselves.

Now I am not no professional fund raiser so excuse this question. Wouldnt you want to raise a set percentage above your cost of the fund raising event? I mean if I was to hold a fund raiser and I had a budget of $10,000.00 I would want or expect to raise at least 10% in my mind. Anything less would seem like way to much of a risk if things went wrong. 10% may even be to small of a number as there is not that much of a buffer there just in case.
I may not understand how much events cost to throw in LA and I would hope someone would chime in with a basic figure. What sort of percentage return is $3,408.00?

Also would be curious if all the porn girls "donated" their time, perhaps in exchange for possible union dues (guessing), were they paid to attend, or did they just agree to show up for the fuck of it. Were they given free drinks? Actually was anyone? What about food or other gifts?

Just sort of curious as I am not a fan of any union, especially one that if I recall properly would basically be self appointing power over all producers.

The cost to throw the event was zero.

Ryan and I promoted the party for free.

None of the girls were paid to attend, they came to show their support.

There were no free or food drinks.
