Steven Tyler has quit Aerosmith =(

The sweet emotions that the members of Aerosmith once felt towards each other have apparently come to an end. In an interview with The Las Vegas Sun, the group?s lead guitarist, Joe Perry, said that the singer Steven Tyler quit after a concert in Abu Dhabi. ?Steven quit as far as I can tell,? Mr. Perry told The Sun. ?I don?t know any more than you do about it.?

Well damn. I know he was a little weird and fickle after doing that super bowl show awhile back.

I will stand by that fact that you should NEVER subject people, let alone rock stars with past substance abuse problems to being in a city playing a concert in cities where the is no alcohol allowed by law.

No worries, he has ex's. I am sure he will go on tour again at some point.

LeRoy 11-09-2009 11:03 AM

Damn that sux

Saw them live once and they rocked. I wouldnt want to see them w/o Steven Tyler.

kristin 11-09-2009 11:04 AM

Wow, he looks old.

michael.kickass 11-09-2009 11:19 AM

That's sad news, Steven Tyler rocks.

Mutt 11-09-2009 11:28 AM

for me it's between him and freddy mercury as best rock frontmen ever.

not much of a surprise that he's quit - he's gotta be near 60. i hate watching these guys grow old, I don't watch Johnny Bench play baseball or Guy Lafleur play hockey, don't wanna see Mick Jagger, Steve Tyler and Paul McCartney at 60. old age and rock n' roll don't mix, it worked for Sinatra but look at his nickname, Chairman of the Board.

Davy 11-09-2009 11:31 AM

Why would the lead guitarist not know if the guy has quit or not?
Is it too difficult to pick up a phone and call his band member? Wtf!

JenniDahling 11-09-2009 11:42 AM

Wow, after all these years... I remember one of my favorite quotes from him several years ago in an interview where he said, "Before it was all about popping pills, booze and all night partying, now it's vitamins, bottled water, and trying to get enough rest so we're not exhausted the next day... its sucks getting older." lol

Wait it can work for Paul McCartney too. I mean he gets an partial pass because he is British and has that accent. Plus it is not like he is dancing around the stage. I mean it is one thing to be kicking around the stage and acting all rock star, it is another to sit at a piano and sing.

Furious_Male 11-09-2009 11:51 AM

He is Aerosmith. Going to be hard to replace him as a front man at this point. Glad I caught them live last year.

freddy who? don't forget about bono and mick jagger. im sure things will be ok when they cool off. you don't just leave after 30 years of being married to 4 other guys

Riffhard 11-09-2009 12:08 PM

The only band to die on stage will be the Rolling Stones. :thumbsup

Saw Aerosmith twice in the last few years and they definitely rocked!

american pervert 11-09-2009 12:11 PM

to bad this story isn't about kiss.

SykkBoy 11-09-2009 12:13 PM

I've seen Aerosmith 10 times over the years....first time was way back in '84 and most recent was a couple years ago with ZZ Top....always an amazing show...Steven Tyler at 62 can still put these rockers 1/3rd his age to shame when it comes to just taking over that fucking stage. He's the epitome of a frontman....

Not sure why these guys got so popular. That's some of the biggest junk I've ever heard.

matrixfred 11-09-2009 12:16 PM

You mean he's quitting after only 39 years of being with the band?!?! What a dick!!!

Vendzilla 11-09-2009 12:25 PM

Word on the street was he broke his arm falling off the wagon.

He's been looking rough lately, unfortunate but no big surprise.

That fucking kicks ass. Exile On Main Street by the Rolling Stones is probably the greatest true rock album ever made. And they were awesome on that tour a couple of years ago when that movie "Shine A Light" was shot by Martin Scorsese.

Saw Aerosmith a couple of years ago as well. It was an excellent show. But Steven Tyler had a HUGE stomach. It was kinda weird. He's a pretty skinny guy, but he had a big bulging gut. They sounded great of course, and Joe Perry looked like he was in better shape than most 18 year old guys.

I think he was pointing out the spelling mistake. It's FreddIE Mercury.

Sarah_Jayne 11-09-2009 03:15 PM

If true then the announcement should be they broke up because really could anybody go to a gig with Tyler and think it was Areosmith? That said, he has done enough shows to be allowed to actually retire.

L-Pink 11-09-2009 03:21 PM

TWICE, I had tickets to see them play in Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky. Both times were last minute cancellations due to a "sore throat" Read that as not selling out all 25,000 seats. After the second time you didn't hear one of their songs on the local rock station for over a year.

I saw them in the past a they were awesome. Then I saw them again a few months ago in Vegas and thought they sucked.

dallasnovelty 11-09-2009 06:18 PM

from people on the inside after He fell on stage during a show in sturgis, then the band had trouble getting insured for future
shows. Had to cancel south america tour. I think it's a gimmick. I predict a
reunion tour in 2-5 years. Any takers? Lol.

If Steven doesn't return, there is no more Aerosmith...period. We've seen them several times over the years, they are an American icon for sure.

escorpio 11-09-2009 06:34 PM

I saw them in '78 and they sucked big time. No one should ever take the stage that fucked up. Steven was hanging onto his mic stand for dear life and slurring gibberish. Joe Perry didn't seem to know where he was or what song he should be playing. He was stumbling around and fell on his ass a few times. Fuckers owe me $8.50.

Waiter 11-09-2009 06:35 PM

One of the best rock bands ever , to bad they loosing Steven
