How bad is recovery? :(

No idea. I tried to find a doctor to do one on me when I was 23 and they all refused. Now I am 34 with my first child on the way. Gonna call all the docs that refused to do my vasectomy and see if they will at least kick in for a gift for the baby shower if not contribute to the college fund.

Not bad, healed quick, not a big deal, but I've heard some horror stories of swelling, bruising, nasty scar

I know a few people who've had them and it seems everyone's recovery rate is different. I do know of a guy who had it done during his lunch and went straight back to work. A friend was off work for 10 days.
I hade one around 6 years ago. It took 2 weeks for the swelling to go down and around a month before I felt back to normal. I have two small scare each side of the scotum.
The experience was not pleasant, it was painful and uncomfortable afterwards, however it was worth it.

Don't do it. It's just not right.

I hear that most people don't have any problems at all.
My experience was much like Calico Jacks but that was over 30 years ago. I am sure nowadays it is much easier.
It made sex fun again with no worries about the wife (or others) getting pregnant and I never regretted the decision.

Go for the laser (no scalpel) procedure.

They usually do operation on friday and you are good to go back to work monday. No working out for 7 days. Should be 100% within 10 days.

I had it done about 2 years ago... had a bit of discomfort for about 2 hours and then everything was great, about 2 weeks later I had alot of pain and sweeling, went back under the knife and the doctor said he didn't know what it was and I almost tore my hair out on the table... whatever it was it wouldn't freeze, still got the lump to this day!

I had it done about 4 years ago , and there was a little discomfort for a few days , and was back to work within 3 days. I have never regretted and have never looked back.

When I was getting it done, (the Doctors office had been broken into during the night) there was 3 cops walking around the place filing out a report, I was more worried about them coming in to the room than I was about the procedure. :)

I had it done about 10 years ago, no big deal. I was back to normal after a week, no swelling or anything.

Had it done this year.
30 minute job, bit of pain when they cut the tubes and you feel them twang all the way up to your neck.
Played golf the next day with jet black bollocks the size of water melons stuffed into some very tight kiddie pants.

Had mine done earlier this year. Small discomfort during the procedure, but was BSing with the doctor the entire time. He told me to sit my ass on the couch for three days and ice my sack. I did was he told me and had a quick recovery.
