Do you love FireFox?

By the way. FireFox is the most vulnerable browser ever:

DefaultMan 11-10-2009 11:06 AM

I used to but now I use Chrome (not because of your thread)

VikingMan 11-10-2009 11:08 AM

Firefox works like dogshit on my mac. I use Safari and am happy.

bad_influence 11-10-2009 11:11 AM

I like it a lot more then IE (does IE even have tabs yet?)and I just havn't used Chrome enough to know about it.

I didn't care for Safari so I use FF on my Mac.

TheDoc 11-10-2009 11:18 AM

I like chrome...

I use firefox the most though, with no script... so I'm back to leading the pack with security.

michael.kickass 11-10-2009 11:20 AM

Firefox is the most vulnerable because it's the most used. Same thing happens with Windows in relation to MAC OS or Linux.

stickyfingerz 11-10-2009 11:21 AM

Ya I don't buy that graph at all. IE is way more insecure than FF, I only use FF for certain things anymore, use chrome 95% of the time and it rocks. :thumbsup

Farang 11-10-2009 11:22 AM

Yes, I do...

fatfoo 11-10-2009 11:22 AM

Most vulnerable ever? That sucks. I do believe there are more bugs in Firefox.

Sid70 11-10-2009 11:23 AM

Chrome. We've been googled.

jigg 11-10-2009 11:24 AM

i've all but quit firefox and moved to chrome

Farang 11-10-2009 11:25 AM

What advantages does Chrome have against FF?

bronco67 11-10-2009 11:26 AM

I love it so much, the first thing I did when I got my new Windows 7 laptop, was to use IE to go get Firefox.

then i erase the fucking shortcut to IE, and hopefully I never see it again.

Speed, resource usage, to use a mac phrase... lol "It just works".

I use firefox for the tasks I use plugins for, thats bout it these days.

sexy-frenchie 11-10-2009 11:36 AM

I don't love it, but I do lick it (especially with all its add-ons).
Yummy!

stephane76 11-10-2009 11:40 AM

I am chrome Lover

Horny Dude 11-10-2009 12:07 PM

After the recent updates Firefox went to shit. I use Chrome now.

magbiz 11-10-2009 12:10 PM

I like FF more then IE ... but from time to time I use Opera or Safari, they are a little bit faster ...

Gordon1 11-10-2009 12:10 PM

FireFox is the best for now.

tiger 11-10-2009 12:17 PM

Nothing is ever 100% secure. If you configure FF right the security is plenty good.

FF is a better browser in every other way, no way would I switch back to IE just because at this moment in time it just happens to be slightly more secure. The security issue seems to go back and forth between versions. IE will get attacked more and hit harder because it has a higher percentage of users so I still think you have a better chance getting hit using IE. Just like PCs get hit harder then Macs.

Really? You want to say that FF is the most used browser? The second place gos to Safari and only the 3rd - to IE. :winkwink:

webair 11-10-2009 12:45 PM

recently upgraded to OPERA

It's the best i have used to date =)

Hardly, if you have NoScript and AdBlockPlus addons installed. The way the internet should be.. neutered. :2 cents:

Sounds about right...

just a punk 11-10-2009 12:51 PM

Not let's get back to the numbers (for those who don't "buy that graph" :1orglaugh)

1) Mozilla Firefox Multiple Vulnerabilities - Highly critical

2) Apple Safari Multiple Vulnerabilities - Highly critical

3) Microsoft Internet Explorer Multiple Vulnerabilities - Highly critical

4) Google Chrome Two Vulnerabilities - Moderately critical

just a punk 11-10-2009 12:55 PM

Securyty reports by last official version numbers:
Mozilla Firefox 3.5.x = 37 Vulnerabilities
IE8 = 16 Vulnerabilities
Apple Safari 4.x = 9 Vulnerabilities
Google Chrome 3.x = 3 Vulnerabilities

Tom_PM 11-10-2009 12:57 PM

I avoid that whole kettle of fish by not using the internet at all, ever.

:winkwink:

woj 11-10-2009 01:19 PM

What exactly is that graph showing? FF is 44% of exactly what?

It's a % of vulnerability among 4 compared browsers by number of discovered ones.

TheDoc 11-10-2009 01:28 PM

October Stats http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp

Firefox: 47.5%

IE8: 12.8%
IE7: 14.1%
IE6: 10.6%
Total: 37.5%

Chrome: 8.0%
Safari: 8.0%
Opera: 2.3%

This from another source. But still, FireFox is 40%+ while IE8 is less than 15%. The numbers say it all. :2 cents:

Likewise and its the best browser I have ever used too. Folks you really need to give it a try as it has some superb features.

Miles better than Firefox.

Agreed. But there are no useful plugins for it, and that is the only problem.

BTW: according to stats, Opera is the most popular browser in Russia (something about 60%-70% of all AFAIR). I don't know why it's not popular in other countries.

TopbucksMatt 11-10-2009 02:52 PM

that is the most vague graph i've ever seen- how do you quantify a browser's vulnerability to the internet? Looks like something that would scare my grandparents though :)

HomerSimpson 11-10-2009 03:01 PM

I use Chromium since I can use roboform with it...

Next time make sure to read the thread before to post your comments. :2 cents:

CPimp 11-10-2009 03:50 PM

I use firefox to log into some things but mainly use chrome because it works better on my internet (dial up)

I completely don't buy that they are including ALL versions of IE either. Is that graph covering back to IE 6 ? And does it include spyware, adware exploits? Cause IE has always been terrible for that.

Did "you" make that graph, where does this data come from? Just the links you posted below and you "compiled" it? lol

just a punk 11-10-2009 06:20 PM

stickyfingerz, sometimes I'm thinking that you are on some serious drugs, man. I don't mean marijuana but something really strong :(

raven1083 11-10-2009 06:53 PM

i love using it

Loki 11-10-2009 07:56 PM

I use FF and a nice reliable virus software, I would not say that FF is "highly vulnerable" but I have seen a HUGE increase of "ads" that make my virus software go apeshit :(

So where is your source for this?

GrouchyAdmin 11-10-2009 09:03 PM

Ain't gonna get no better than A-Web II.

EthnicLover 11-10-2009 10:35 PM

Enjoying this thread through FF.
