Fuck you FOX NEWS. [VID]

Fox News is getting out of control. Has anyone seen this yet?

VIDEO:
http://www.politicususa.com/en/Stewart-Hannity-2

From politicususa.com:

Is Jon Stewart the only man on television willing to hold Fox News accountable? Tonight on The Daily Show, Stewart called out FNC?s Sean Hannity for not only inflating the attendance number from Michele Bachmann?s healthcare protest, but also for trying to pass off footage from the 9/12 protest as evidence of the crowd size. Check out the video.

Here is the video from Media Matters:

In response to Hannity?s claim that 20,000 people were at the protest, Stewart said, ?Anywhere between twenty and forty thousand people or as The Washington Post put it 10,000. The biggest catch was when Stewart caught Hannity using old video from the 9/12 rally.

Stewart said, ?That was weird, because when that clip started it was a clear fall day in Washington, D.C., not a cloud in the sky, the leaves have changed. It?s well attended, but sparse. All of the sudden the trees turn green again, and its cloudy and it looks like thousands and thousands of people of more people arrived. If I didn?t know any better I would think they just put two different days together and acted like they didn?t?It seems Sean Hannity used footage of a bigger crowd from a totally different event to make last week?s GOP healthcare rally appear more heavily attended.?

Why is it that Jon Stewart and The Daily Show seem to be the only people on television who caught Hannity?s bit of trickery? Is Stewart that much brighter than everyone else, or are the other networks not really paying attention? The thing that always strikes me about FNC?s manipulation of video is how amateurish it is.

You would think that with all the resources that Fox News has, they would make a better effort to cover up their deception. If they respected the intelligence of their audience at all, you would think that they would at least make a serious effort to fool them. Instead, they keep providing evidence that they really aren?t all that interested in being a news network. Heck with efforts as poor as this one, they aren?t even a good propaganda machine.

Is there anyone here on GFY who actually believes anything that Fox News shits out? I can't believe that this organization passes for anything even CLOSE to news, and I don't understand why Fox News is not sued into oblivion for constant distortion of the truth. Please someone shed some light on this.

DaddyHalbucks 11-11-2009 10:50 PM

That's the best dirt you have on Fox?

LOL.

If they shut down every news outlet in the US that distorted or slanted the truth on a consistent basis then there would be nobody left. :2 cents:

Well maybe, but now they're not even trying to tell the truth anymore. The 9/12 Tea Party thing was absurd, but this just takes the cake!

No of course not. They've done far worse (Watch "Outfoxed"), but I've never actually seen it with my own eyes. To be honest I never watch Fox news but I just happent to channel surf that day and saw this "report" myself and thought it was a joke, but it wasn't. Then Daily Show caught it too. I was floored. How can they call themslves "News"? Is there a legal dance they're doing somewhere that lets them get away with this?

There is no legal dance required. It is called Freedom of the Press. There is no legal requirement for objectivity. Every news outlet in the world distorts and slants coverage according to their own agenda. Personally I usually watch the BCC and I am endlessly amazed at the warmed over propaganda they serve up as news on a daily basis. Some of it is so dissociated from reality that I cannot even believe that they attempt to pass it off as real news.

At least FOX News is not supported by government funds like the BBC (in the UK) and NPR (in the US).

dav3 11-11-2009 11:15 PM

It's nice to know that they will deceptively edit video footage to perpetuate their political agenda to the malleable minds that watch that crap.

Honestly, they should be shutdown. You can't promote company as a 'News Organization', and at the same time report false news. Actually, I'm surprised it's gone on for as long as it has.

baddog 11-11-2009 11:30 PM

I find it extremely ironic that Jon Stewart is calling anyone out for distorting the news by the editing of tape.

It is a pretty pathetic how eager you totalitarian leftists are to shut down opposition media outlets. I know it works for Chavez in Venezuela...... but you really expect the population to accept the government forcibly closing down the biggest news outlet in the US because it does not toe the line with the current administration?

This just goes to show how out of touch with Constitutional protections the lunatic left has gotten. They don't even give lip service to "free speech" anymore. Instead it is all about dangerous "hate speech" that needs to be banned for our own good.

Censorship of free political expression is the last refuge of an ideology which cannot be justified on it merits. If you are unable to get your unpopular leftist agenda rammed through Congress then the only answer is to shut down the "right wing propaganda" that has us all confused......... only then we will stop having dangerous and un-progressive opinions.

Really disgusting stuff. :disgust

Why?
He says he is a comedy show all of the time. He makes fun of the news. Even he says he is not a credible news source. His job is to play the role of a reporter and make fun of the format that is popular on the other channels.

It is not his fault that he often gives more accurate news coverage than real news outlets. It really just shows how fed up the younger generations are with real news sources that they feel better off getting their news from comedians and then looking up the issues themselves that really interest them. Not being a real journalist nor news show he can poke fun at whatever he wants. He also has the younger generations so tuned in that real politicians and other people actually show up to be interviewed on his comedy show, knowing that he will ask almost anything and it is in front of a live audience to boot.

spunkmaster 11-12-2009 12:01 AM

Hannity isn't a news show it's his views which are to the right.

Oberman on MSNBC is the exact opposite who is far left and as socialist as you get
but nobody ever bitches about his leftist views ?

Because our views are right. Right wingers are nut jobs.

Iron Fist 11-12-2009 02:31 AM

People still get their news from FOX? Wow... considering that CNN continues to be #1 ever since time was time.... who fucking cares really.

Matt 26z 11-12-2009 03:56 AM

Hannity is just another Fox character that is over the top. I am convinced they develop their news people like how TV shows develop their characters. They start out bland and then over time the characters become more complex and entertaining. You just don't see straight shooters on Fox. It's all theatrics.

It's like how Hanity went to California to cover some farmer's water being "cut off." He didn't mention that the farmers sold their water to SoCal. He didn't mention that the baren field he was set up in had already been harvested for the year. He didn't pan the camera over to show the lush green crops that hadn't been harvested yet. He didn't tell anyone that the crowd behind him wasn't even from the area and they were just there from all over as Obama haters.

And leftists have mental disorders. The left will always be a minority in America, and rightfully so. Just goes to show you that "objectivity" isn't in Stewart's vocabulary because even he doesn't know what the hell he's talking about half of the time.

There's no difference between Fox News and CNN. They're both retarded on different sides of the spectrum. The best news is ESPN.

Jon Stewart is a COMEDY show and makes fun of news events , ridiculizing them just as Jay Leno does during his monologue and introduction on the Tonight Show.
Anobody that thinks that those are " news " needs to seek urgent treatment.

Hannity did not "edit" a tape ( editing implies from the " same source ") but introduced parts from other sources . That is called a " montage " . Then he tries to make it pass as news , as the thruth ...
Quite different :2 cents:

Sometimes you say the dumbest things.

Do you just make it up thinking no one else knows the truth or do you actually believe it?

Tom_PM 11-12-2009 10:12 AM

Be aware that Hannity is NOT A NEWS SEGMENT, it is an opinion/entertainment segment. Those are not subject to the same rules as actual "news" segments. Also, advertising rates for news and entertainment segments are different.

It's still a fraud on his own viewers. Just sayin, can't hold him to "news" standards because it's an entertainment show.

It is safe to assume that you consider BBC and NPR "real news" because they frame events and the news in a way that confirms your previoulsy held beliefs while FOX News fails to do do.

Personally I don't like the tabloidish style of FOX news......... even if I agree with their political slant more than most other stations........ but just because the BBC presents things in a more serious style does not diminish the fact that their reporting is outrageously slanted and intentionally misleading on a regular basis. A large portion of what they present is just simple advocacy journalism masquerading as hard "news" or outright propaganda.

There's a big difference. The Daily show isn't a news program. It's comedy and satire, and most of the stuff he "reports" on are the cable news channels themselves. Fox News reports everything as fact.

Not true! Watch the video again. There's no mention that it's an edit or montage, or even hinted that it was a montage. Come on...

most cable news shows take their viewers for gullible retards, fox is the worst for this. they know all they have to do is get people with a certain view riled up and they'll be glued the set absorbing opinions (which they take as fact) like a sponge.

The difference being that The Daily Show is on COMEDY Central and John Stewart does not attempt to pass himself off as a serious news source.

Is it really that hard to see the difference? :1orglaugh

BBC would be one of my preferred news outlets yes, however no one news station/paper will ever be completely bios....just wont happen.
You need to read papers, watch the more serious stations, read between the lines etc and of course not be a complete idiot....
