how to make a geotargetted ad?
 

I want text that says:

"Hi visitor, I see you are from [CITY]!"

Is there a geotarget script out there that I can use?

Check Maxmind, they offer a free geoIP for countries, updated every month, and geo cities too.
The accuracy is a bit better when you pay for the service.
I've only used the geoIP for countries (the free version) and it works well.

Your geoip is way off here. Says I'm down by Washington when I'm closer to Pennsylvania.

Definitely use MaxMind paid version with a subscription for updates. VERY worth it. The free db is good for fooling around but you need the paid one to stay accurate. Best value among geo-IP data sources.

or buy a block of searches from them, its just a call to their site when a surfer comes to your site and its super cheap!
