Massive releif!!!!

Skufty at 5am this morning got sick. he wouldn't eat or drink, and had the shakes. He threw up a lot.

I called the vet at 9am when they were open and they said to wait a day and see if he shakes it. He was pretty bad all day and I stayed by his side while working all day

he just ate 1/2 a chicken burger - I'm sooo happy - he's still sick but he LOOKS better now - I think he's on the upturn!!!!!!

You still will need to change vets. That is a BS way to tell you what to do with your dog.

Just do not let him go unwatched until he is over what ever it is. I once had a dog die over toxins that its own body created...and it shook and puked and would not eat or drink.

Encouraging sign to be sure...but continue to watch him. I know that you would not want to wake up and find him dead.

I had to put one of my two dogs down awhile back and I miss her terribly. So does my Jack Russell. He would always run ahead when I took them fishing or camping with me and would turn back to urge her along. He still does that...but of course she isn't there anymore. I hope there is a doggy heaven somewhere.

Except poodles who terrorize children when your grandmother is not around and then act and loving and sweet the second she hears her car pulling into drive way.

My mini rat terrier woke me up last week at like 3am by walking on my chest and head, plus making noises and small amounts of barking. Eventually I was alert and turned my light on. She was shaking real bad like she was cold, but she could climb under the covers of either I or the wifes side. Plus I had my portable heater going that I bring everywhere, yes even shows.

I called vet and they said to either bring her in or we could wait until morning. Wife and I had not really slept in a couple days to that point. We defaulted to waiting until 6am when they opened. I placed her under the covers between us, she did not wish to stay put. I let her go. Felt super guilty for not taking her but I was on bed rest and the wife could not even stay awake for a few minutes.

Come morning she was fine. Guessing she ate something.

My parents had to put to sleep their dog the other week. She was so happy because hunting season had started and she was playing in the woods. Then she stopped eating and my father had to feed her by hand. But they had to put her to sleep after taking her to the vet.

Dogs sure make you worry about them. Glad he's ok.

One time I was playing with my dog and he got his paw stuck as he fell over, he made a big yelping sound and I freaked. Put him in the car, drove to the vets, had x rays done and everything as he wasn't putting weight on it. Vet laughed and told me it was probably just like you or I stubbing our toe on a coffee table. Ended with me $300 out of pocket and an hour later my dog running around like a crazy animal again.

How is the dog doing tonight?
