Damn kids and worthless cops/laws
So tonight was a cool night for the most part, nice quiet and mellow. Come the end of the night, about 2 hrs ago, me and one of my bitches was chillin on the porch smokin a blunt before she was gonna go home. So anyways we're sitting there and we start hearing noises like glass breaking and falling, and we're hearing quite a bit of it. I send her inside to grab one of my shotguns as I stay on the porch watching to see what I see.
About 15 seconds later 2 teens walk in front of my house and sure enough one of them swings a hammer and breaks out the side window on her truck. At this point I'm off the porch and walking towards them asking them what the fuck they thought they were doing. The tried to act bold and raise the hammer up until I racked and leveled the shotgun on them and tell them to get down on the ground. So anyways the cops get here and it turns out that the kids are brothers, one is 11 the other 13. Instead of arresting the kids, the cops elect to call their parents and have them come pick them up to take them home. At this point in time, the cops are not sure if any charges will be filed against them because of their age. BULLSHIT. 6 cars on my street alone had windows busted out. Now, here's the kicker. I get a citation for brandishing a firearm and will now have to go to court over this shit and pay my lawyer yet some more hard earned cash over complete shit, but the kids breaking windows most likely wont face any charges. Before any anti gun folk come in here, save it. Each and every one of my firearms is legal, licensed and registered. And yes, I would do it again |
that's completly fucked up. At some point some people will stop calling the cops and just slap the kids around.
|
good thing you had that shotgun or that hammer could have been deadly.

you call them kids? antichrists

Could of lied and well said they were making threats with the hammer and then you got your gun to protect yourself which you keep right next to your door.
|
shoot first ask questions later.
it was dark, he had a weapon and was coming for you. you have a witness and a trail of damage. good parenting there, maybe you need to break all the windows in their parent's ride. |
hope you at least made them pee their pants, did their parents say anything to you
|
that's f'ed up for sure... :thumbsup
|
I think you reacted the same way I would have.
. |
down south, car is extension of home, you could have shot them and went about your biz down here. breaking and entering home and raising weapon at residence = gun shot.
|
This thread needs the Joe Horn 911 call. He is our hero!!!!
(BTW, he was cleared by a Texas Grand Jury a few months ago so will not be facing any charges for shooting those 2 savages in the back with his shotgun) https://youtube.com/watch?v=LLtKCC7z0yc |
wait cops are good?
see everyone thinks cops are good until they come and fuck you over for doing the right thing. wtf is with kids now? i never smashed out windows but i would throw apples and at least have an escape route in fear of getting my brains pummeled |
Next time just shoot the little fuckers and bury them in the woods.
Or eat the good parts and bury the remains. Shame to waste good meat. |

Always remember the police don't stop crime they respond and write reports about crimes that have already occurred.

Glad we have the "Castle Law" here in Florida.
This sounds like a bad judgement call by the cops. They should have thanked you for stopping the kids and calling them. The kids are lucky to be alive since they were the ones brandishing a weapon. |

As far as the 'castle laws' and things like that, I'm not real sure how that would apply here as the vehicle was out in front of the house, parked on the street. Not on my property. |
Can you go around the neighborhood and speak with all of the vandalism victims and perhaps they can help you out with your court situation? And also with doing something against these kids?
If the police don't want to punish young kids... eh fine, whatever... but then the parents should be held 100% responsible for the actions of said kids. Not 90%, 100%. Pay for damages, court fees, pay a penalty or a couple nights in city jail for unruly behavior, the whole shabang. If parents were forced to do all of that, I'm willing to bet those kids would never do it again. |

Edit: nothing funny about it though. Very fucked up. |
Shoot first, ask questions later!
What is the point of having a legal gun if you can't use it. Especially since they threatened you with a hammer. |
I'd blow their fucking knee caps out and go back inside.
|
I hope when these people report the broken windows to their insurance companies they make reference to the police report so they can go after the parents of the kids for reimbursement.
Maybe if the parents have to fork over enough money for what their kids have broken they'll think twice. |
Pfft. Kids today have no respect, but most of them had no education too.
|
what the fuck? a grade 5 and grade 8 kid do shit like this?
where the fuck do lil kids get anger to do this shit when i was that age, i wud of been scared shitless and played POGS and watched power rangers |

In truth, I don't feel the kids deserve jail over some windows, but at the same time a trip to juvie, being booked and having the parents pick them up there would probably go a long way in making them think twice about shit like this in the future. |

Should have shot the fuckers...After all, he did threaten your life with the hammer. :2 cents:

Seriously fucked up. What is the ticket for if the guns are legit? What you did seems perfectly legal.

The Florida Castle law isn't all it is cracked up to be. A few years ago, a guy north of Orlando heard his front door get kicked in, he came out of his bedroom with a pistol, and shot the first guy that came at him, who happened to be a 15 year old.
The cops locked him up, and they prosecuted him for murder, because he should not have been in fear for his life since he was armed and the 15 year old was not. If I remember right, they ended up getting him for 2nd degree manslaughter. |
Be glad you aren't in the worthless state I live in.
There, parents are NOT legally responsible for damage their children have done. Not many people know that, though. Go bust out the parents car windows. THEN they'll finally be pissed enough at the little garbages to actually do something to the little scums. |
Wow, Sac is a rough town.
|
if the kids had a hammer you were in danger
|
Sac?
Sac town? Sacremento? |

But with the rest of your thoughts, you're right on track. If the state declines to press charges then small claims court it is... actually, even if charges are brought against them, small claims court will still be used to recoup the money spent to repair damages. Quote:

that sucks man..I would do an estimate of damages they did that day and tell the judge on your court day..
|
If i recall correctly, you can brandish a firearm on your private property all day long.
|
if you're under 18 you won't be doing any time. come out and play :)
