Does anyone bet on UFC/MMA fights?

I picked four out of four of the main fight outcomes in the last Strikeforce card with Fedor, and it got me thinking I should try to make a few bucks next time, since I enjoy watching the fights anyway. I was reading some blogs about MMA betting online last night, and it seems like Bet.Us and Bodog.com are two of the most popular sites to wager on. They also have slightly different lines on the fights at UFC 105 & 106. I didn't see anything to indicate so, but is online sports wagering even legal in the U.S? Any of you guys have experience and make money at this ? It's probably too late for me to create an account for today's UFC 105 fight, but I like Randy to win as a moderate favorite over Vera and I actually like Bisping, rebounding off that big loss to Henderson as an moderate underdog against Kang.

Just find buddies who are suckers and bet against them.

Holy fuck, I was doing some research on SportsbookReview.com and read a lot of horror stories about people getting ripped off or not getting their payouts even on the popular sites I mentioned. Makes me wonder if it's even worth it. I'd like to get some action on the fights, but not if they are gonna refuse to pay out.

I do. YOu can def make money if you know the sport and lines. I would never bet online as you will never get paid, no matter who it is. Back in the day, I used Intertops for bigger type bets and futures, but I have since heard they wont pay either. And if the IRS finds out, you might as well just kill yourself. Trust me. Find a local guy. Someone always knows someone. Gl.

I was studying the differences in the different sports books lines and I have been keeping track of my own picks informally and picking winners outright 60% or more of the time. I follow all the major and some of the minor MMA promotions and fighters careers pretty closely. Maybe I should start a new thread, "Does anyone know a good bookie in South Florida.", he he.

First of all, BetUS and Bodog are fucking HORRIBLE and I would seriously recommend against either one of them. They both will make you sweat your payouts, and they both offer horrible betting lines.

Without a doubt you should open an account at 5Dimes.com. I'm not spamming a ref code or any of that crap, I just highly recommend them if you are in the US, and you never have to worry about getting paid. Read their reviews and you will see. Also, when you open your account call them and tell them you want the reduced juice instead of the sign up bonus. They offer reduced juice lines on almost every game and fight, and in the long run that will save you a ton of money. They also offer more MMA and boxing lines than any other book except Pinnacle, and Pinnacle no longer accepts US customers.

Just remember that most of the sportsbooks rape you on fees when it comes time for a payout, so you just have to get used to that. As for MMA betting, I am a heavy MMA underdog bettor and I do really well at it. I stick to a main system that has me way ahead in the long run...bet on a heavy underdog that has one punch KO power. It's easy to fall in love with the favorites, and lately a lot of MMA favorites are covering, but where is the value in betting Fedor -600? You make a shit return, and fluke KO's happen all the time in MMA...
