WTF? AVG Antivirus blocking affiliate links?

Not exact blocks but discouraging users from clicking affiliate links: When a user clicks a link, the AVG alert box appears. Webmasters at other forums and blogs are discussing this, have you experienced this? This may be due to http://www.avg.com/us-en/press-releases-news.ndi-224945 link scanner. This appears to be happening to Mainstream affiliate networks. Some claim that its due to 'suspect' programs within the affiliate network like CJ, etc.

FYI

AVG should worry more about finding viruses, since its pretty much one of the worst anti-viruses now.

I guess they are shooting for the 'sense of security' angle now.

AVG has gone so far down hill. Used to be one of the best. They really need to refocus and stop playing all these little games.

That's the deal with Eastern-European products, it's exactly like the population there, they look almost human but something is fundamentally missing/wrong.

Link cloaking, .htaccess redirects, html redirects.

Yup and PROTIP: helps with your SERPs if outbound links look internal. Way better than rel=nofollow to make your site seems less spammy to the engines.
