World's largest cruise ship [pix]

The Oasis of the Seas. It wouldn't surprise me if RCI went bankrupt after blowing $1.5 billion on this ship.

Enjoy the pics.

Nice ship :)

BradM 11-16-2009 11:30 AM

A ship like this will have no problem absolutely smashing local wildlife to shreds.

Not many icebergs in the Caribbean. More likely the mortgage payments on this fucker (and all their other ships) will sink RCI.

mvee 11-16-2009 03:24 PM

Crusie ships are giant floating porta potties that are deystroying coastal mangroves, estuaries and coral reefs and the animals that live in them by dumping raw sewage and other pollution into the ocean

i vacation on a private island in bvi, cooper island. the windward side is awash in toxic waste and refuse from ships. mostly plastics, but pretty much any sort of garbage that does not discolve in water is on that side of the island. it's horrible.

Lord Voldemort 11-16-2009 03:34 PM

beautiful.
God, I've love to get on that ship!

I have heard it is really bad, just imagine all of the toxic sediment you can't see settling into the reefs which is than passed through the whole eco system once the shell fish absorb it.

I have been on about 9 cruises. almost every one sold out and every time we found at least 1 to 3 Party rooms or clubs that were empty.. So that is just a HUGE waste of space.

Swish 11-16-2009 04:55 PM

I think I may have seen this thing docked here in San Diego last Thursday, fucking huge!

Spunky 11-16-2009 04:57 PM

Wow,that ship is amazing and massive.

Ace_luffy 11-16-2009 05:09 PM

wow, wonderful pic, i love it

Waiter 11-16-2009 05:14 PM

yep , the newest and the biggest of all , part of the big Royal Caribbean Family , real beauty ... no words

Spudstr 11-16-2009 05:16 PM

I just got back from a cruise on majesty of the seas, which _was_ the biggest cruise ship until this one came out.

We are booking a trip on this one, its supose to be absolutely amazing.

If you have never been on a cruise, go take one. Its probably one of the best ways to spend a vacation. RCI does a great job as a cruise company.

dyna mo 11-16-2009 05:30 PM

you would never find me on a cruise ship like that.

cam_girls 11-16-2009 05:36 PM

I'd go if they had a no kids cruise, I want that merry-go-round to myself!
6 months around the world...

One step closer to a waterworld planet. The irony will be after all this pollution, we'll all seek refuge on self-sustainable vessels like these. Sort of like a bio dome floating on water.

That's about 3400 gallons per hour, 25 mph cruising speed = 136 gallons per mile?

5,000 passengers plus 2,000 crew ..... seems like the per passenger mpg is pretty good?

My math really sucks, does that sound right?
