Brock Lesnar so sick he may never fight again

I had read that Lesnar had to drop out of the upcoming bout he had scheduled because he was sick, but I didn't know it was this bad. Dana White said over the weekend that he is very sick and in the hospital and they are trying to get him transferred to the Mayo Clinic. He may need surgery and he may not fully recover so there is a good possibility he may never fight again.

He wouldn't saw what was wrong, but said it isn't HIV/AIDS or Mono.

DavieVegas 11-16-2009 02:55 PM

Um, unless its a heart condition, cancer etc I do not see how just being sick even with the flu/anything can get himt his sick..It has to be worse then this. He pulled out 2 weeks ago which is well over a month for his fights. Very weird.

Martin 11-16-2009 02:59 PM

Just goes to show no matter how big and tough you are nature still has the final say. Hope he gets better. I was looking forward to seeing him crush more fighters.

marketsmart 11-16-2009 02:59 PM

i heard it was liver & kidney failure from steroid abuse....

xNetworx 11-16-2009 03:00 PM

This illness is mysterious. I wonder what is really going on. Hope he recovers.

Totally possible.

pornpf69 11-16-2009 03:10 PM

that is pretty sad... another great fighter that goes away!!

DavieVegas 11-16-2009 03:30 PM

Probably steriods ya. Sad as hell. But now heavyweight division is done if he cannot come back.

That wouldn't shock me at all. He is a monster which leads a person to think he is either freak of nature or a heavy roider and those things can cause you all kinds of issues.

PR_Raul 11-16-2009 05:45 PM

gotta get off the roids!!!

d-null 11-16-2009 05:47 PM

sorry to hear, would have loved to see him fight Fedor some day

Even with Brock in good health it will NEVER happen. Time for everyone to accept it. I did a long time ago...

Big Red Machine 11-16-2009 05:52 PM

I think everyone is jumping on the Roid Bandwagon alittle too early. Lets hear more first. My friend is a fighter and almost died from a Staph infection that had him in the hospital for a month and lost 40 lbs. Give it alittle time and the truth should come out.

BobG 11-16-2009 05:52 PM

White is a promoter. If he's talking, you can't be sure what's real.

Fedor is Amazing definitely one of a kind. Any mistake a bigger guy makes on him he capitalizes on it. He is Chess player in the octagon.

It seems like a lot of fighters end up getting Staph infections. Is it from the training or just the beating the body takes? Any ideas why?

from the mats... and body to body contact all the time with nothing but sweat and cuts and shit...

you are always cut as a fighter.. somewhere.. weather you got a mat burn on your arm, feet or you got a split on your chin or face... all that rubbing on the mats and body contact.... staph is very commmon .. forrest is getting over a bout with it that had him sidelined for months....

thats why I use

www.defensesoap.com

I swear by the shit....

but yeah for the most part... and idiots coming on the mats dirty...

my wife always asks me why I shower before I go train ...

I answer if everyone did then you'd have less staph...

It would seem like common sense that you would make sure you were clean before you went to train, but then again I guess that is too much to ask of some people.

marketsmart 11-16-2009 07:30 PM

i agree with what danza is saying with the exception that staph is very contagious and even micro cuts or abrasions can spread staff..

i have trained at several places and the mat cleaning that a lot of these gyms employ is not what it should be.. :2 cents:

The steroids garbage concerning Lesnar is just that...pure garbage. I've seen pictures of him when he was 16 and he was fucking huge then. He has never failed a drug test, and the Louisville Police Department even had to issue him an apology when they seized a shipment to him that they suspected was steroids, but turned out to be vitamins and supplements. That was back when he was at Ohio Valley Wrestling training to go to the WWE. The guy is just a freak of nature, period...

Good that it's not HIV/AIDS.

Saw Lesnar getting his ass kicked on Cage Fighting by a fighter called Mir. It was a replay from a fight in 2008. I thought Lesnar (who is a big mother) would break Mir in half, but Mir put him in a leg hold and it was all over in 1min 40 odd seconds. Lesnar came back this year and beat Mir in two rounds. Personally, you can't get that big without steriods and the human body doesn't grow that muscular naturally. It is a high price to pay for fame. Personally, I would like to live to old age.

lamest post ever...

kane 11-16-2009 10:06 PM

I just read on espn.com that Dana White talked to him, he is in the hospital and has a bacterial infection in his intestines. Lesnar says he thinks he will be out of the hospital soon, but White still wants him to go to the Mayo Clinic for more treatment.
