Just a heads up: We paid Jack Nasty of Nasty Graphix 50% upfront for a front end he was working on for us. The terms stated that we paid 50% upfront (which we did) and 50% upon completion of the project. He is now flat-out refusing to complete the site and is now requesting the rest of his money (without providing us with any of our files) Wtf?

Anyways - we'll take the loss and go somewhere else, but thought I'd warn anyone that considers working with him in the future. His lack of professionalism and quick temper is unfortunate as he is quite a talented designer.

U should at least give Suzanna a try if that is how you spell her name or Fletch He maybe weird on the boards and hell real life too who knows but his work is great and from what I seen and hear he does it on time as well. *shrugs* Good luck.

Why should he give you the files before getting final payment?

He completes the work. You approve it and pay him. THEN and ONLY THEN should he send you the files.

I'm sorry, but from what you've written it sounds like you're not up to speed with how the process works.

No no. I'm not asking for the files. I'm asking for him to complete the site design, we pay him the remaining 50% and then he provides us with our final files. I'm not asking for files pre-final payment... but at this point we have an unfinished site which he won't touch until we pay him the remainder for the balance. Not what was agreed to at all.

Oh.. and this is a first: He threatened some sort of voodoo shit on me over this. According to him, I should start feeling very strange within the next 30 minutes or so. Ok then... WOW.

Gotcha, from what you wrote I thought you were trying to get the files before making final payment. In that case, he should most certainly hold out for payment.

If he's flaking, that's a whole different story.

if i recall... he's a guy who just says "yes" and "no problem" to everything you say or ask... and then it all just goes sideways from there. he doesn't do design.. he out sources i think. he's just basically a salesperson. i try to do some stuff with him and it all went sideways from the start.

Well it has been over 30 minutes now and I?m still alive and feeling fine. Though I did put a dollar in the vending machine and the m&ms I had purchased got stuck in the machine! This could be the beginning of the curse. :Oh crap

He used to be really awesome. Then I think he sold his nickname/company to someone new because he is slow, unreliable and sort of crazy. If it is the same guy, he's on drugs.

We stopped using him awhile ago because he became flaky at best. This is after we used him a lot and I referred him to a lot of friends.

Totally depressing how that happens.
