Social Network Scripts?
 

I am looking for a very simply models type of script. With the way things are changing, I need to start centralizing models to one site instead of trying to keep contact over a number of networks.

I do not need anything as complicated as a Model Mayhem, or One Model Place, or MySpace. I am looking for something where the girls have to register, and can post up some pictures, and then I can post up when I am doing shoots, and whatever, or send email to members from a central thing.

What I am running into now is some people are not checking their MS/FB/whatever email accounts and missing out on scheduling because they are scattered all over the place.

With a centralized thing, over time, it can grow into a MM type thing if I wanted for local talent and models, but realistically. I need a centralized site they can check, and sign up for, and post their shit or whatever.

Any ideas?

Most of the Social Network scripts I work with are pretty much all singing all dancing solutions, I work mostly with PHPFox on that front, pretty versitile and you could turn off most of the features until you decided you needed them in the future.

Apart from that If all you needed was a place for models to sign up and you can email all members then a custom solution might suite you better. Really depends exactly what you need now and where you see it going. (obviously a custom solution is future proof aswell at extra cost)

Yeah, I am thinking it will end up having to be custom.

I am thinking something a bit more robust than a modelmayhem type site (long run) but in the short term, I want the girls to be able to sign up for the site. Post some pictures if they want, as well as contact info or referrences (long term) so that they can find other work without the bullshit of some of these other sites.

However, in the short term. I would be able to mass email the girls to announce shoots this week, or next, and then more easily get their schedules and correspondence.

I am getting to a point where I am not handling all the modeling shit myself anymore, the assistants are. It really becomes a problem when you are telling them to contact this girl they need to use this, and another girl use that, and this one has to be called, and this one doesn't have a phone. Whatever.

So I need a centralized point of communication. If you want to be scheduled, here is where you go, and here is where jobs posted, and so on and so forth. Nice and easy for others to manage, and schedule besides me.

Makes sense to do it that way. If you don't already have someone to do a custom solution hit me up on ICQ. I do alot of custom CMS software for paysites and dating sites etc. So I already have systems in place for doing everything you have mentioned. Membership, Galleries, Mailing List etc.

just a thought..why couldn't you use a classified ads script? seems most have virtually all the features you might need except for the typical SN ones like buddy lists, chat, etc. (sounds like you don't really need those but I may be wrong)
you can mod posts and pics, mass email..individual email from admin....allow the models to post pics and contact info to a "profile" instead of an "ad"...it would be easy to create categories as needed ...easy to browse and search for the user...

I dunno..just off the top of my head...something to consider anyway...lol

Interesting idea. It may possibly work in the short term. But I would like to incorporate something more long term as well, like a Model Mayhem over time.

I am never leaving this business, so the model roster, and people I interview are only going to grow over time. Right now I have 75-100 people contacting me a week trying to get work!

Most do not qualify. Either too old, do not want to suck a mean one, not ticklish, or do not fit girl next door appeal,... whatever. So that is a lot of people I have to turn away when I could be making money on it. Or if the business changes and I can use them for something else.

You could use Joomla to build something like that. It would be a nice amount of work and some paid plugins but a somewhat straightforward job that Joomla can definitely handle.

Now comes the hard part. Finding someone to do the work.

I use Joomla with JomSocial, and I am happy with it. Also Joomla makes it easy to add all sorts of features to the site.
