You should hit up JB, he's in the NiftyStats VS StatsRemote thread trying to explain why paying monthly for a program makes it 100x better than something that does exactly the same thing, but for free.

I'm very sorry about this. As already mentioned it's because NatNet is down right now.

StatsRemote needs to connect to our server in order to check whether you have an active subscription. Unfortunately there's no other way.

We've been hosting with NatNet since 1998 and something like this is very rare.

Did you forget that NiftyStats forgot to renew their certificate a few weeks ago and the software wasn't working because of this for much longer than the downtime NatNet is having now.

Someday you might be able to afford statsremote. Once you actually try it out you will understand.

Not to worry.. I was moreso just making sure it wasn't me. Downtime in online is not always something we can control... and it's not forever. I've been a Statsremote user for ions and I can count on one hand (with fingers missing) the times that it's been unable to connect.

Just means I'll get a nice surprise in the morning when I see what my stats did overnight.. all in one place.. all without having to remember my passwords and program urls.

Oh, I'm sure there's a way. Requiring dependence on a 3rd party in order to simply start the software installed on your own computer is nonsense. Surely you can include a "registration data" file as part of the install package, which can be upgraded every time you upgrade the software, typically on Tuesdays.

The damn software won't even let me start it to work with the stats it has already collected.

Yeah it was, but also arguing about how your program is more superior to someone elses, when it's YOUR PRODUCT, is also low too... Just saying.

I have no beef with you or StatsRemote, I'm pretty sure it's a killer product, but everyone thinks that because you pay for it, it's way more superior than anything else...

StatsRemote is a subscription based service with many different recurring and non-recurring options and we've been using this authentication system for 7 1/2 years now with probably less than 10 hours of downtime in all these years. I'm sorry, but for me a short downtime is no reason to change a system that has worked so well for so many years.


It's low to stand behind your own product and say it's good? Not in my world. StatsRemote was my idea back in 2001, we were the first to offer such a software... and I'm proud of it :)

Ok, humor me here... I never used StatsRemote, and like I said, it's probably a killer program, but what does it do that NiftyStats doesn't that's so revolutionary that it is worth paying monthly for?

Does it log in to your sponsor, grab stats, and display them to you?
Show you sales?
Show you graphs?
Allow you to quickly switch dates?

My main bitch about nifty is it completely fucks up my ccbill stats. It's not even kind of based on what my stats really look like. The other bitch is that it supports almost none of the mainstream sponsors I promote. Nifty is inadequate for my needs.

I don't use any of the advanced functions of statsremote so I can't comment on any of the other stuff.

Ok, that's a valid arguement, NiftyStats doesn't support your sponsors and is acting whack for you. StatsRemote works great. But me, I'm a cheap bastard, I would rather make my own, or learn it myself then pay for shit... To each his own... But NiftyStats works great for me... Nothing is f'ed up, and they support all my sponsors.

LoL hi KK..never can understand why people have to be haters.. There's room for more than one type of program to check stats without bumpin elbows. I guess for some people it's kinda like Yankees vs Mets. And they gotta jump the smallest thing that happens to try to make their own point.
