so I have streaming setup now for some project, we can seek to any part of the file but if we seek to 30 seconds into it it jumps back to 20 but for most of the file its perfect

any clues?

this happens in both lighttpd and with wowza

might as well be encoding issue, check if the flvs are injected with correct metadata.

btw, try this tool on one of the affected flvs, and see if the issue goes away

flvtool2 -UVp ftw
