Needing pointers and strageies b4 launching affiliate program. How did u do it???
 

So after about a year now I finaly have the content and affiliate program all in place just a few minor cosmetics to the site and i'm up. My question is how did you guys do it? Are there some ground rule standards that I should abide by? Should I start with high promos? I want any insight you Vets have to offer. I want to to this right and have slowed my role in order to do so. I have worked and basically spent my budget right outta school but did it right I believe heh... Bump for you - Good Luck with your new AP dude!! I'm right in the middle of re-designing MY Program (see sig, heh) so I'm interested in the Vets opinions, too.

More like 50k per month but still havent spent a dime on traffic yet

Generate, buy, create, etc. your own traffic and look at affiliate traffic as gravy....if you're expecting to roll out a new affiliate program and have people start throwing traffic and joins at you, you'll go broke waiting....times have changed, affiliates are very fickle (not a bad thing, just a reality) and you need to make sure you can sell your own sites before you can expect others to sell them.

The above is great advice - I've only tried the Affiliate Program thing BECAUSE I'm doing so well selling my own shit. Quite honestly, if I never get another single affiliate I'll still pay the rent, survive and more, and be happy financially. So I figured, if I can do this then an experienced affiliate, with good traffic, should do incredibly well!

I signed up as my own affiliate to test how my network does for affiliates, and how one site either leeches from another or feeds a successful one. MY affiliate conversion rate is 1:140, and these days that's fucking amazing. So all I will ever ask is someone to try promoting my sites and if they make even one sale, go all out and throw whatever you can at them because the ONE thing I am 1005 certain of, after selling my own shit for a long time now: my sites have a STEADY conversion rate, like clockwork, like 'I got X number of hits today so my sales should be....exactly right!'.

So we'll see.

It dosent sound horrible thoe...lol not bad its sometihng to try and its tiral and error..Or .... Well you described it better.

The usual I guess.
Check all your sites and make sure they function 100%.
Have a good list of tools for your webmasters.
Make sure your tours are leak free and they not only convert but retain.
Make sure you or staff are available to deal with any and all issues.
There are a thousand more as I am sure you know.

Content content content content and then more content......if you think you have enough then you dont!
With tube sites out there you basically have to have a massive amount of content to retain and then some.

Even in niche sites you need a lot to keep them busy while waiting for the next update

Well I dont have but 25k uniqes a month its a tube so its growing fast I have about 5k public vids and more coming I have the content.
