Can this affect my numbers? Help!

Hey.
In August I put all my marketing on a separate server from my sites.
And it just seems like the numbers aren't as strong as they were before then.
Could that affect sales? Or is this just still a product of the economy and credit crunch?
lol
Thanks
Me

We would need more information to really say. It is certainly possible, so don't write it off.

What kind of marketing materials? Different server or different hosting company? Has the speed of the marketing materials changed at all? Have you been having any other server problems? How much of a difference are we talking about?

The numbers aren't as strong. Need more information. This could be due to many reasons. Customers don't like the product. Or customers have less money to spend or they want to save money. Economy is worsening. People are jerking off less. Maybe people are deciding to go outside their homes and have real sex, instead of jerking off on porn sites.

if the marketing materials are working fine on the new server (no down time, speed problems, etc.) I don't see why it should affect the results.

What made you move them in the first place? What exactly are the marketing tool? Is the other server the same specs as your primary, same company with the same bandwidth costs?

Moving promo material to a new server is generally to lighten the main site server load or save money.

what's "marketing?"

sicone 11-22-2009 03:48 PM

Are they on the same domain that they were before?

same hosting company.
speed hasn't changed...if anything its faster
no server problems.

i'm sure its just the economy.

i wanted marketing stuff on a separate server for performance reasons.
didn't want to slow anything down.

Probably the domains. Don't worry they will grow like a fat girl sipping on a coke.

why would that do it?

Possibly there were links pointing to the old sales pages which haven't been updated
to the new URLs. Do you have the old URLs redirected to the new? Separating TGP
galleries and such from the members' area IS often a very good way to achieve your
goal of reducing load, much more effective than some other approaches that people try.
That's the same idea used by Google, Yahoo, etc, who each have subdomains for
various logical sections of their sites.
