Maybe if you provide more info, like how much capacity you need... I presume by "slow" you mean that it doesn't need a powerful CPU?

I just picked up a server from Techiemedia with 4 x 1TB hotswap drives. Most hosts should be able to give you a 4 drive chassis which means you could (currently) fit 8TB of raw storage into a single reasonable priced server. Then there's the cases with 20 bays, but they cost a bit more. :Graucho

I guess if you spread yourself around to enough $7.95 unlimited* accounts on different hosts you might have a chance of one still being active if you ever need to restore. :1orglaugh

I think I finally get this. You use a pool of dedicated servers and only press one into use when it's needed by a client. Or is it a VPS solution??

What's the process for backing up, is it like an rsync commandline or does it need a dedicated client?
