This place could definitely use an iTrader system like most of the mainstream forums have. They are far from foolproof, but it helps having a little background info going into a transaction. If I see someone has a lot of positive iTraders I'm more likely to purchase a service or product from them...

I like this one.

If you did, first thing you should do is follow a few simple suggestions to fix the server load and search feature issues. It's really not hard :2 cents:

I think a "star" system like it is on another board I go to would be good....It goes from five stars down to one star.....So when I see the title and only one star, I don't have to bother to click it.

I would say have some kind of "webmaster verification" system where you get a badge by your avatar that shows you are not a troll or surfer

imho, you never get answers you want when you just ask users what they want. They all want different things. The spammers want one thing, the idiots want another thing, the bros want another, and the professionals want something else.

I am getting answers.

I'd have you pay me to ban people.. That and the iTrader thing is a good idea.

The delay between posts isn't that bad is it? I've never found it really really annoying actually. I post 3-4 times a day on GFY so maybe thats why, people who post a lot will notice it. I agree with the search tho, that annoys me to no end.

Honestly, besides the occasional down times, it's not so bad at all really. Shooting the shit is important and that part is not broken at all. It is the program discussion AND fucking around forum after all..

Oh, and another feature on another board I go to is that I can mouseover the link to the thread without clicking it and see the first couple lines of text come up in a little box....Then, I can know whether or not I'm interested in it and won't waste time even loading a page that I don't want to see.

Get involve with your team and make this place more about real business, set up chatrooms for daily or weekly moderated seminars. Interact with the industry in a business kind of way. You know what you are doing in adult Dave so caring for the new blood coming in and helping them would be a huge step.

I would also have profiles state if the board member is a confirmed adult webmaster or work in the industry or noob and try to eliminate surfers and trolls with +10 fake profiles.

I won't pretend to know what it costs to operate GFY, but we all have a rough idea of the kind of money it brings in advertising wise. I've always thought it would be nice to see even just a portion of the proceeds put back into GFY (aside from the shows.) Be it new features, better load speeds, quality contests/prizes of some sort (like in the early days, Blu-Ray players are cheap for example.)

There really hasn't been much evolution over the years.

This forum moves really fast and it's hard to identify people who you can trust.

You don't want to fuck with a formula that obviously works pretty well already. Other than maybe some verification of new nicks, and removal of fake nicks that are out there just to damage others without any risk to themselves. Accountability is the only thing I would say to add other than increasing forum speed / server speed. :2 cents:
