Too bad that we don't have that here :( |
Tequila is the only spirit that actually ages in the bottle. You can stash some cheap tequila in the closet for a couple of years and it will age itself into some of the best you have ever tasted.
|
we don't have that many to choose from so I'm not even going to say what kind I like best :)
|
Milagro select barrel reserve anejo (or any Milagro really)
Corazón de Agave |
I like mine homemade...
|
Patron Silver.

Casadores

Sierra tequila is most common tequila which export and i think in most cases only one available.
|
I hate tequila but Patron has a smooth taste to it so I say Patron.
|
i love this stuff - and never get a hangover with patron

Tequila is the only thing I like as a shot..
All the Tequila's I have tried so far were worthy of being drank. But for some odd reason, I like Jose Cuervo Gold the best. It isn't about being smooth, I straight up like the taste of Tequila. It's the only hard liquor that I like.. |
Patron or 1800

so obviously that guy dosnt know what real tequila even tastes like... |
when tequila is distilled it separates into 3 parts, the head, the heart, and the tail, the heart is the best part. high end places take the head and tail and distill it again or toss it. gold tequila is made from the head and the tail.
i spent about a month in mexico shooting an industrial documentary about tequila so i learned a couple of things. |
cabo wabo and patron my favorites

Some of these threads pop up and it seems that they do only for people to post the absolute best known brands available that money can get and or to jump on some who happen to like what others consider lower end or poor brands. Happened here, in beer ones, rum ones, scotch ones, etc. Not saying you did this. I just do not get when people like a certain thing and it happens to be considered low end by those in the know. Why is it an issue or whatnot. They like what they like. To me it just must taste good, be fairly smooth, and of course have proper alcohol content. I get hungover either way after a few shots of it. Even despite what someone else said in the thread, even on pure high end stuff like patron. Tequila is one of the few hard alcohols that I really like, like in a way that makes me not want to drink it often due to my fear of liking it to much. |

I am partial to my friend's tequila because it's good and I know how it's made. Patron has changed their recipe 4x in 10 years. As for dos lunas I'll tell you why I think it's one of the best. It's 100% organic. They are currently applying for organic certification in mexico. this is a 5 year process and they are 3 years into it. you need to have your fields herbicide and pesticide free for 10 years. they use goats and cows to keep the weeds down. another step they do that many do not is to remove the wax from the male plants. some people say this is what helps cause hang overs. then when it comes to processing many places use calcium chloride to help speed up fermentation and keep down bacteria. that is something else dos lunas does not do. many companies also add glycerin to help help numb your throat cuz their tequila is so harsh. another thing dos lunas does not. as for aging dos lunas is aged in American white oak barrels (old jack daniels barrels) when you drink it you will notice hints of leather and vanilla. very smooth. you can drink it on ice or straight up and its smooth like sipping whiskey. i have given it to many people who say they hate tequila and they love it. |
If I feel inclined to get arrested again I will give that tequila a try. :)
|
i'm all about the PATRON SILVER (fuck the gold)
|
people who drink patron are buying into the marketing. i DARE anyone to drink/sip it at room temp
|
Personally I like chilled Patron Silver..

Milagro is also on my list. It's always mentioned in these tequila threads and I still haven't tried it. |

Im by no means a pro tequila connoisseur, but i do fancy myself as in the know and i like to sample many tequilas. When i went to mexico, getting an authentic bottle was one of my goals. I still like patron over many. For anyone not looking at top shelf. Give two fingers a shot. Its decent lower grade tequila :thumbsup Its certainly way better than jose quervo... whoever drinks that shit might as well get some whiskey or rum.... because its not fucking tequila :2 cents: |
I'm not a big drinker and it seems I usually have a different taste than most people, so my choice could look weird, but I like Chamucos, which is a pretty cheap Tequila in Mexico.
http://www.tequilasource.com/bottles...po_4396_r2.jpg btw, I grabbed that pic from this page, really cool bottles! :thumbsup |
I'm partial to the Don Julio lines, I only keep bottles of 1942 and REAL in my house. However, I do keep 1800 Reserve for making margaritas or drinking games :) heh
