There may be...but you probably can contact military families within your community thru the VFW or the American Legion. I personally already know military families so it is not a problem for me.

very good pay
paid for a substantial part of his college education
got very good training and could have had his choice is great jobs after the service

Those who serve get paid crap because it's all funneled over the top; and the family who is usually without a daddy ends up living worse than those selling drugs out of section 8 housing.

Not the military people I know. I have a few friends still in the military and they are not and were never destitute. That's not to say that everyone in the military is good with money or doesn't encounter unfortunate circumstances.

Let's not forget that the US military is completely volunteer too. Nobody who is there was required to enlist.
