I just came to youngerpornstars.com and really love the way it works, any idea on what CMS is it using? It looks like Elevated X with some add-ons, but really not sure

Any clue? :helpme Spam away! :thumbsup

JamesK 11-27-2009 10:50 PM

that's a custom CMS I think

*edit - I'm pretty sure it's running on WordPress

dj derek 11-27-2009 10:53 PM

bummer :(

I really hope it's not custom

JD 11-27-2009 10:59 PM

nope, it's not that plugin at all, it's 100% custom, a hybrid of Wordpress/ JQuery / AJAX-AHAH . Besides, that plugin can't do most of the functions we added to it (we experimented a lot).

Not our most complex CMS either, as a matter of fact, right now we're working on a non-adult virtual museum/library with 3D capabilities (including virtual tours and panoramic views) managed via a WP custom area that will kick ass :thumbsup

We were doing these WP hybrid CMSs for a couple years, when I was really ill and bored and I decided to learn how to extend the possibilities of the WP engine and then go wild with this, glad you like it, although I don't even show them in my portfolio :1orglaugh

harvey 11-28-2009 12:26 AM

but most important: don't be fooled by the bells and whistles: that site converts like a mofo, which is what matters after all :thumbsup

Max_PuZcash 11-28-2009 05:48 AM

Wow, that's some inspiration :-)

I love Wordpress and I like to see sites using Wordpress to get ideas on how others are designing with it. I have had my employee tweaking Wordpress for my own sites and I am really happy with what we have been achieving. I use it on my content production portfolio site in my sig as well as my JimGunn.com VOD site. Gotta love such a powerful CMS and free is nice too!

wow, I didn't know this kind of sites can be done with Wordpress. I really like what you did, the design is great and really clean and the CMS and look is amazing.

However, I was hoping for something non-custom for monetary reasons, I want it for my first pay site and I can't afford anything custom yet. Hopefully once my site grows we can work something out

Shoplifter 11-28-2009 02:24 PM

Looks great. The biggest problem with the various Wordpress CMS systems is that the site ends up looking like a blog and it is confusing to surfers. This looks pretty unique. Is the system for sale?

You're so far off base it's not even funny. With all due respect to the SiteDepth people, who have a great CMS system, it's impossible to replicate this with SiteDepth unless you load it with all the custom (and non custom) scripts we added and the AJAX/AHAH backend that connects it. And frankly, I'm not sure if you can do it without some previous customization from SiteDepth themselves. I know for a fact neither MAS, nor EX nor Sparta can't do many of the included functions in this site without some intensive customization. And that's what CUSTOM means

thanx for the kudos :)

now, just to be clear, although we do custom CMS, in this particular case it's a TMS (Tour Management System) because they already had a CMS in place and they wanted something to manage a giant tour in a way no CMS can do, hence the load of features. This being said, our custom CMS/TMS + DESIGN costs the same and even less than what most design companies charge for a design alone. And I'm not talking only about the top ones. So feel free to contact us, you'll be greatly surprised :)

No, it's a custom built. See, I started to play with this 2 years ago with http://mysexbabe.com/ planning to build some standard CMS option (more or less what http://www.adultsitecms.com/ did some time later). Then I realized that the basis of today's internet business is being as unique as possible, trying to give our clients the edge over their competition. Hence we decided to do only custom systems. They're better, more complete, more customizable to each webmaster's needs... in short, something specific for every site to make that site's content pop out. Keep in mind that my strength isn't design or programming per se, but marketing. Thus, we build what's needed to make sales (within the client's specs), and that's why I said above not to be fooled with the bells and whistles: they are there, but they are there for a reason, my clients don't sell design, they sell access to their sites :)

So the first ones we built were almost free and now we charge a quite little amount of money for TMS and just a little more for CMS. To give you an idea, not much more than what most standard CMSs charge for setup fees only. And then you get a custom system free for life with 100% open source (we don't ZEND anything right now, although maybe we'll do it in further releases with never seen before features we're working on right now)

Why we do this? Because we don't want people to be scared of testing our custom systems because of the price. Personally, I can't even imagine why people with no CMS or very basic CMSs would want not to use a TMS. So, no, the system is not for sale, simply because we can do something custom and better for anyone :)

well, not really. We're working on our site's new version and right now the newest work displayed in our current portfolio is almost 2 years old.

See, we strive to make WINNER sites and more money for our clients so they get back to us. I'd have shown this thread and anyone with a working brain cell will harass us to do their design work since we do Janak's and his partner designs. But that would mean to show how they make it, hence they'd have more competition and copycats. Since we really don't need it, I don't use to toot my own horn and you'll rarely see me posting in a "designer search" thread, unless the project interests me particularly or I'm recommending another designer (which I do most of the times). Besides, we're working mostly in mainstream, and more specifically in political pages in my country. One of our candidates duplicated his votes and his web page got 35x more visits in its peak after we re-worked it. I like to think some of those votes came from our work :) (and yes, I'm tooting my own horn now because I'm really proud of it :winkwink: )

In short, this thread would have been amazing once we launch our new site. But thanx for the kind words, really appreciated :)

we do those on a site per site basis depending on needs. High end blogs start at $800, TMS anywhere between $1100 and $1500, full CMS from $1300 and up. Although we'll be probably raising prices for the last 2 options.

Because of the way Wordpress is set up, the database and the myriad of very useful functions, you can turn it into basically anything you want, with just some PHP knowledge.

My sig has both my sites, which are a hybrid dump/tube/tgp site. So far it completely rips any and all sponsor FHGs (and non-sponsor, like, say, your competition ;) both video and image, and creates the galleries based on number of images ripped. It can do tube-style imports (url|description|image url|etc). And I'm integrating it with Trade Expert to give it a robust ratio/trading feature as well. Right now people sign up and submit their own galleries. The signup is a custom sign up page but it interacts with Wordpress' database, so it's as secure as the native Wordpress page.

Basically you can turn Wordpress into whatever you heart desires. It's all about keeping an eye on what your ultimate goal is and keeping organized. Wordpress can handle the rest ;)

We used some of the stuff you also use in your site, I was the programmer for that site, and you're 100% right, you can do almost ANYTHING with Wordpress.

@Harvey: I spent a lot of time with the SEO aspects of the site and you don't even mention it, how comes? :(
