Dysons last. :2 cents:

It used to be Kirby that was the name to go by, but they are more industrial. Very expensive, alloy cleaners for aircrafts, offices & warehouses.

LiveDose 11-30-2009 06:59 PM

We have one made by a company called Rainbow. Sold through independent distributors it uses water as the filter. The suction is unbelieveable.

Well, he is wrong...sorry ASM but I was a dyson skeptic too until I bought one about five years ago and now it is all that I will use. It takes up pug hair perfectly which has to be up there with cat hair for being a pain in the ass to suck up.

If it is overpriced in the States that it the problem of people over there. It is priced fine over here.

BlackCrayon 12-01-2009 07:01 AM

I've never used it but this vacuum is actually called the pet hair eraser

I am using a Shark Vac I have the upright and the handvac. I got both of them for under 150. I wouldn't spend 500 plus on a vacuum cause they all break down over time. Dyson go for 300 and up.

I am also going to get a bissel pet vac, and also getting a air purifier helps a lot. I have 3 cats. so I know about the hair situation. you have to vaccuum certain places daily. you can't let the hair settle and have tumble hairs rolling around.

Ycaza 12-01-2009 09:24 AM

if you dont have 5 hundy for the dysin get a bissell pet hair eraser. like 130 for it. i have 3 long hair cats and this thing works awesome

Sarah, lol, i dont think you understood my sarcasm. I like dysons also! :thumbsup

Blackcrayon & ycaza, I have heard these cleaners are fantastic too! I cannot say from experience though!? Experience stands with the Dyson.
Do bissels have a bagless system also? I give the cyclone in the dyson is top marks! :2 cents:

Dyson Animal is what I use. Does the trick each and every time :)

urbanpimp 12-01-2009 11:45 AM

I have a pug and this is what I ( I mean the cleaning lady) uses for the couch and chairs:
http://www.shopvac.com/vacs/list.asp...ries=Hang%20On

Cost me $37.00.

minniesoporno 12-01-2009 12:06 PM

Next payday I am getting a bissel pet eraser and keeping my shark hand vac. til i can find another pet hand vac.

bns666 12-01-2009 12:25 PM

get a vac with water based filtering, no need to mess with those dust bags, just pour the water to the toilet and clean the tank.

yoeleven 12-01-2009 12:31 PM

henry is the best!

I have tried both. I would of never tried the Oreck if not for the Dysons price. I had the Dyson first after it replaced another canister vac. They dyson although having nice mobility, it still had a lot of weight to it, to much into design and not enough into full function, plus the vacuum power seemed lacking. While I still had it I tried the Oreck because it had a 30 day free trial and they paid for return shipping - i.e. an honest trial. I tried it and it was lighter and stronger.
Sort of pissed me off as I knew I was now keeping the Oreck, but that meant I had to take a hit and sell the dyson on craigslist.

Will admit that the Dyson commercial kicks Orecks ass. One had a nifty camera angle high tech angle with a British guy and the other has a old school watch me hold a bowling ball up type angle with an old dude who may make a living door to door.

Ycaza 12-01-2009 01:07 PM

the bissell is bagless, i went to sears and they matched the walmart.com price, i just showed the sales guy the webpage on my iphone and they matched it plus 10 percent of of the difference, which is a like a few dollars. every dollar counts though these days.

My choice as well. The cheapest bissell's suck, filter and clean better than even the Dyson. Its been proven. A friend of mine with about 40 carpet cleaning vans turned me on to them.

joshll 12-01-2009 01:34 PM

why pay fortunes for vacuums..just get rid of the cat.

jtrade 12-01-2009 01:36 PM

I have to vacuum my place over twice to get up all the cat fur.. very annoying.. and pretty gross too! Anyone want a free cat? lol

Ditto. It was expensive and I don't like their MLM scheme, but nothing sucks like a Rainbow.
