What is your Christmas decoration color scheme this year?

I think I am going to put our stuff up this weekend. We haven't really decorated in years because we usually go to his parents in another part of the country. This year they are coming to us though. Since it has been so long I am buying a whole new set of decorations.

At the moment, I am thinking of going with a red and gold theme. What is your decoration color scheme?

We use the old burgundy/gold theme.

Red and Gold. Because it's Christmas and other colour combos that deviate too far from that are wrong!

gold, silver and that pinkish golden color. A little bit of white too.

Purple and green this year :) :) To match my new purple wall in the living room but we're only getting a tiny tree as I cant fit a big one anywhere boooo

katharos 12-01-2009 08:25 AM

i think nature as always, all decorations on our tree are from nature products

Multiple colors, lights and tons of decorations. It takes us about 3 days to get everything set up and about 4-5 hours for me to get all the stuff my wife has down from the attic.

She will be getting a new shed this year and a brand new 2 wheeler to pull the stuff out with. I am done going in the attic each year ;)

I'm gonna do the house in all white lights I think.

Sarah_Jayne 12-02-2009 07:00 AM

All white is interesting..would think that would be a hard one to pull off but if you did would be nice.

Mine are all gold. I've even wrapped up all my gifts in gold too :)

That can look really nice when done well.

At our old house we had a vintage color theme going. Pale 50's blue, silver, pale green, red. It matched the colors in our home. In this house we have deep reds, smokey blues, gold, olive and khaki green and black. Our tree and my snowman collection mirror those colors. I like to decorate in the same colors as my home. The reason being is so that everyday decorations can fit right in and make my holiday decorating budget stretch a bit :) Add pine cones from the yard to an already existing decorative bowl and poof, suddenly it fits the season.

1) place box of decorations in middle of room
2) ignite fuse
3) beer

Mostly green, red, gold, silver. I guess old school style.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE decorating for Christmas.

I do 2 full size trees, so 2 color schemes, and try to mix it up each year.

#1 - my office will be a green tree with blue / purple & white docorations
#2 - rest of the house - tree is white with red/gold decorations, the rest of the room is done in silver, gold, white, with red and blue accents
