How to encode a WMV on a mac?

To my surprise, my new shiny mac does not allow me to encode to WMV.

How do you mac guys do this with quality results?

I use Cleaner, but there are several other wmv encoders for Mac.

Example of wmv encoded on a Mac with Cleaner:

Smash Up Derby at Rock the Ball, San Francisco, 2008

Search a Mac or Video forum and you should find many good results and reviews.

Which one do you have, the Studio Pro or the Studio Pro HD? Curious if I should do 2 pass encoding or not.

Thanks.

That looks good. Any special settings?

The default settings are good (several defaults are available), or you can customize the settings, and it does batch processing as well, so that you can encode for handheld devices and flash streaming, etc, simultaneously.

That would be nice.

Everyone said, don't use bootcamp, don't use Parallels, you will love MAC and won't use the PC again. So I figured I would man up and go for it. I'm a little disappointed that such a robust machine does not come with something built in to encode to WMV.

wmv is windows media video. Apple pushes h.264 standard video. Like others have said, there are tools to do it though.

Yea, I got that, I just thought they would encode out of the box to wmv. No big deal, looks like Flip4Mac will do it if used through Compressor.

Two things I've noticed so far that could make the ultimate machine:

1) Out of the box, it will not encode to WMV.

2) Out of the box, it will not WRITE to NTFS drives.

If it could do both, then there would be no need to have a PC. Good thing there is software to do the job.
