JW Player 5 Released by Longtail Video! FREE from MojoHost for Commercial Use.
 

Hi Everyone,

JW Player by Longtail Video has just announced availability of the long awaited version 5! MojoHost is pleased to announce that unlike it's other host competitors, we negotiated a FREE commercial license for all of our customers years ago. If you're on our network, we can install and license unlimited editions of JW Player Pro for you to use on your web sites at MojoHost.

WHAT'S NEW IN VERSION 5?
Simpler Skinning Model
You no longer need Flash CS4 to build skins. If you can create an XML file and images (e.g., PNGs), then you can create a JW5 skin.

Improved Plugin Architecture
The player now allows for a broader set of plugin use cases such as securing content, player locking, advertising, and more.

Support for Media Providers
As always the JW Player supports the major CDNS, but with JW5 it's easy to add support for any content source.

Wowza Media is considered by most to be the best way to serve up Flash videos on your server. Here is a link to my recent GFY announcement about Wowza Flash Media Server v2.0.

mojohost ROCKS

JW Player v5 doesn't stream with lighttpd for me. I had to revert to 4.6

Greg on our team here just informed me that he set it up for a client this morning and it's working great with lighttpd. Apparently, there is a change in the JW Player code to make it work. If you want to have a technical conversation about it, feel free to call in (x803 Greg).
