Ever have the feeling you've wasted your life behind your computer?
:2 cents:
Never, but then again it would be to early to say. So far so good that computer got me everything that i have today.
Sometimes :thumbsup
If you're feeling like that, hit the gym every morning.....Then you can sit in front of your computer for the rest of the day guilt free.

I wasted my life working for the man in order to survive
I don't live my life infront of this machine, so I'm good.
Getting a little burnt out Roy? Do like BVF said, will help ya. |
yes. the computer is liberating for the crippled, physically repulsive, malformed, morbidly obese or socially inept, but for those who are of sound mind and body yes of course you wonder.

My wife spends so much time online, it wouldnt be bad if she was actually making some money but nope shes been hooked on some fan fiction bs for like 3 months now... shes sitting on the couch now as I type this... reading her FF BS... she needs to get a life and I need a new wife, does yours at least cook, if so keep her lol |
i don't feel that way at all... Although I gave up a shift tonight so that i could redesign footpervert.com. :(
Go bang a tranny, and you will be ok :)
Burning out is a feeling of being overwhelmed and unable to do even the things that once you cared about passionately. Burnout is prevalent in societies where we are multi-tasking and are being asked to always do too much, achieve more and more and not taking the time to reflect over our own needs and wants in life. A little bit of time out can prevent burn out but you have to be very aware of the dangers of doing too much before you can tackle burn out efficiently. |
I sit in front of my screen for 16 hours a day eating fatty foods, wanking to tubes and trolling forums, I'm happy as Larry.
Tiger Woods is a billionaire and pretty fucking depressed right now. Who's the winner? |

the millions of generations who killed, suffered and toiled for you to exist would be proud of you now.

if you can't - even in some fleeting moment - see some kind of sad poignancy the fact that generations of your ancestors killed, raped, suffered and butchered for you to type some shit on a screen and for money to pop out down the block ... well, then you may not be human.
NO
because imagine how much life would suck without having a computer, this technology is the greatest thing ever to happen to mankind :2 cents: |
Fuck no, you are in the most exciting time of human history, you are part of the information wave that will forever change humankind. Fuck going to the moon as the next big step - its nothing compared to changes that will happen when EVERY human on the planet is online :thumbsup
For the record, I'm not actually a fatty food eating, tube wanking, forum trolling person named Larry in a positive mood.
Could say the same for all the CrackBerry junkies out there... so funny, i've seen groups of people in the movie theater all sitting next to each other and all texting someone else..
Nice friends indeed. |
never but i have some reasons why
Nope I keep a pretty busy and balanced routine.
yes, but without the computer it might be the tv. I think trying to be successful in this biz you have no choice.
Nope. Because if it wasn't here, it would be sat somewhere else doing something over and over again anyway. So i'd rather have the freedom i have here...
Yeah, it happens when you feel fat.
if you hate what you do, you can go work in a coal mine I guess
"There may be a price to pay" Alan Parsons was correct.
"He who has to leave home loses" Something I go by. The real waste of life is having to slave at the same lame job and miss all the beautiful wednesday mornings at say 9:45 when you're just doing whatever like nothing. Now unfortunately I never do get to do nothing at 9:45 am because I am always busy doing something else to keep from having to work for the man at 9:45 am but, I COULD be doing something else (like nothing). :) Paradox. Working for yourself you actually never have total free time and yet you always have total free time. |
Being alive presupposes a waste of life...

i agree, i love computers and technology, Computers are passion for me, i will never ever get such tard ideas. if i wanna do something, i can go out and do what ever i want, dramatizing the things is for suckers :2 cents: |
fact is most the modern world wastes their life working some shitty job. at least we can work from the comfort of home but i have always believed that people weren't meant to live life like this. not just in front of a computer but just working 8-12 hours a day in general. time flies by, the next thing you know you are 60 and never accomplished near as much as you wanted all because you are a slave to your bills.
Not only for me...I love computers!

Sometimes I wonder if the success of my online business stopped me from pursuing other things.. then I realize, I'd still be a broke grad student, probably banging my professors, barely getting by... and going into some job where I'd be working for someone else..
The freedom of what I have no.. mixed with the self esteem boost of being successful.. helps, I think.. Plus, I'm a gym rat. I workout almost daily.. and enjoy going out shopping and out to eat... I try to get out of the house as much as possible.. |
i used to kind of be bummed out about missing out on pretty much all of my 20's, working 100 hours a week, for almost 10 years. i did get to travel a bit, but even then, i was completely tied to a laptop and cell phone 24 hours a day. from 96 to 05.
in the end though, the hard work paid off, and now i can finally enjoy the fruits of my labour (wow that sounds gay). i grew up as a teenager without the internet, and now i can't believe there was ever a time without it. writing letters to people. calling them on their home phone. /random ramblings. |
Nothing excites me more than technology and I don't consider one second that I've spent in front of it a waste.
Every time I go to a good bar. I love to hear the chiching of the register.
Of course it was not a waste. I have done just about everything I have ever wanted to do. Then again I have no issues closing up this piece of shit and doing something else. Yes I did say piece of shit, as it is nothing more than another tool. It is not my job, not my life, and nothing more than the interface I use to complete the work I desire.
I unlike many though have kept it all very much in perspective. Not everyone will earn millions and be set, hell very few ever will even if they work 100 hour weeks until retirement age. At the same time there is nothing at all wrong with working for another company or as some say the man. That at very least provides you with security and if done properly a way to support your ass when you are too damn old to work. Not everyone is able to be their own bosses even though more people think they are than really are. Ask around and see how many have planned for their futures. Look at some threads from the past around here about savings rates. Seems the vast majority of those who work for themselves have zero plans set for retirement. In essence they have wasted their lives to date just acquiring stuff with next to nothing to show for it when it comes to the long haul. Pretty sure most are either satisfied with what they have today, blind about the future, others still have dreams of millions earned soon once their big idea takes off, and then a select few who did plan ahead like a good boss to make sure their employee would be well taken care of. |

There is life beyond the computer?? Show me, please, I want...to see!
Now and then but then I figure that pretty much any alternative job I would have would also have me sat behind a computer for most of my day. So, I would rather do that from home and in a more flexible environment.
Though, I am recently seeing the importance of taken on hobbies that get me out from behind it. That is why I am going to be dipping my toe into studying photography soon. |
played 1,5 years WoW in my spare time, was definitely wasted. :Oh crap I bet Iam not the online who regrets.
not really, just have a feeling i could work a lot harder and do a lot better!!
We should hold hands, Sands...
Sometimes i do..
