Emergency Power Issue

Hello,

Due to severe storm power grids in and around our data center have failed. Out generator cannot currently be turned on as it's partly submereged in water. We are draining the area around the generator And expect to be operational shortly if you have any questions please feel free to call 619-395-5229.

Va2k 12-07-2009 05:37 PM

Pretty fucked up having your back up drowning...

DaddyHalbucks 12-07-2009 05:45 PM

What kind of facility design allows a datacenter to flood? Most data centers are located outside of flood plains and/ or on upper floors of buildings..

I've heard Donny Long may have a long dong. Well, guess what? Some women say, "I'm small." And some women say, "I don't want a big dick to fuck me. My pussy is too small." That's why they need a smaller dick.

I don't think anyone planned for flooding like this streets are flooded and so forth. We are sorry for any trouble this will cause anyone.

TheDA 12-07-2009 05:52 PM

What a balls-up!

It's frustrating when you put your trust in people and they let you down.

Somethings always exceed expectations. There's been bad storm over here recently and it's been wiping out bridges and all sorts just up the road from me.

Hinc 12-07-2009 06:46 PM

Whats the timeframe?

Va2k 12-07-2009 07:07 PM

Good luck, we just got done with our worse storm as well a few weeks ago.. It sucks good luck bud.

How do you define "shortly" ? Its taken several hours now...seems quite unbelievable.

I thought you guys moved to Mexico?

rowan 12-07-2009 08:54 PM

Around here we have areas that are marked as subject to "1 in 100 year" floods... normally high, dry and safe but statistically there's expected to be a significant and extraordinary flood once per century.

Just out of curiosity, why are D/C generators typically installed in basements?

Actually its referred to as the 100 year storm, but what it really means is that any given year, the storm has a 1% chance to happen.

Waddymelon 12-07-2009 10:39 PM

Someone needs to man the bilge pumps and get the servers running again.

It's a CA designed "datacenter" Halbucks... LOL Maybe it'll work, maybe it wont. Kinda like it's photo shoots:2 cents:.

split_joel 12-07-2009 10:50 PM

Here is an update,

Our generator is still submereged in water and still no update from the san diego gas and eletric. At this point we have ordered a 800 KVA backup mobile generator that will be finished hooked up shortly.

If you have any questions please call 619-395-5229.

We appologize once again and will be giving credits to affected customers, as our DC in mexico is still fully operational.

Our datacenter itself is not flooded, the back where the generator is located is flooded. Streets are closed, once again I applogize for any convinence.
