I just saw an article that mentioned The Summit is costing around $14,000 per delegate, over $200 million in total for a Summit that will do absolutely nothing... they do these often. The general United Nations has a difficult enough time agreeing on "punishing" a country for genocide... getting hundreds of countries to agree on results oriented climate policy is wishful thinking.

Another annoying fact I heard today: on a news TV show they said it would be better to stop eating beef and eat more pork instead. That would reduce the CO2 emission.

I understand that it can't be good when the poles are melting but on the other side no one talks about saving clean drinking water, a ressource that will be rare and more valuable than gold some day (they said in about 40-50 years, article from 2007). Maybe that will be a bigger problem than +2-5°C till year 2100.

What people tend to forget about the future is that humans are VERY adaptable, pragmatic, creative species. Plus the amount of wealth in 100 years from now will be many times more than today (just think wealth in 1909 vs. 2009), so there will be more wealth/resources to pay for future problems with future wealth (just think if you gave people from 1909 the task to put a satellite in orbit within 100 years with their current technology and wealth - it would have seamed impossible to them).

I can´t beleive how many people think that all this issue is just an excuse to make money. Finally the lobby was successful, people is reapeating everywhere what they wanted.

Of course there are many people interested on making money with this, it always happen. But also the truth is that everything is going to hell...

Of course, for these "rich people" everything is fine, air condition, food from supermarkets, and confortable life from ikea. Everything is going fine...

However, far from big cities, there where life is quite realistic, nobody would beleive all this issue is to make money, because in money places you don´t need to be a cientisc to realize what´s going.
