?????????????????????????????????????

voa 12-09-2009 11:27 AM

Im little bit confused ? What you think about

TurboAngel 12-09-2009 11:30 AM

It's about more than $300, like $477 and some principle.

born2blog 12-09-2009 11:31 AM

what the fuck is this thread about actually?

seeric 12-09-2009 11:31 AM

true irony is:

$300 > ICC-Cal Bank here.

that's the scary part.

that ICC-Cal thread should have been 25 pages long. the repercussions are billions in the long run and everyone loses far more than 300 dollars each. the people responsible are well known, yet that wasn't an issue.

puts this place in perspective lately.

the other thread is about principle i think, and i'm not discounting the OP thread on payment from a program, as i am an affiliate too. it just really puts the new gfy into perspective from what it used to be.

2cents.

this is the link to one of the articles.

http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1128434.html

again, not discounting someone's efforts to get paid on priciple AT ALL. just saying, this icc-cal thing is going to fuck everyone, and it should be a huge deal to everyone, especially since everyone knows the people responsible for it, but the news and the shock and awe of the matter was kind of ehhhhhh around here.

oh well, back to my cave.

Eric, I still haven't figured out how it affects me. Our merchant accounts are still sitting at Humboldt. I'm missing something here in the big picture but I don't know what it is.
If you have time would you mind expanding on this and explaining how it affects all of us? If I'm gonna feel pain from this, I'd at least like to be aware. I am pretty much ignorant on this subject but would appreciate some enlightenment.

Tom_PM 12-09-2009 12:11 PM

It's because everyone can grasp promoting someone then not being paid, whereas very few know a damn thing about what a merchant account even is.
I was hoping to learn something, but nobody posted much of anything other than pointing out that nobody seemed to know anything..

Heh-heh, that pretty much sums that up. Apparently we all know who is responsible for whatever it is that we don't know anything about too.

I wish somebody would just SAY what the deal is here so we could all understand what's happened.

Tom_PM 12-09-2009 02:37 PM

I read the article someone posted somewhere else when it was first posted. But for me, being a knowbody, I know enough to know that I dont really have a burning need to know. I know that the people who need to know, know what needs to be known, lmfao.

DaddyHalbucks 12-09-2009 02:40 PM

I figured that the people who were affected by this would be the ones with merchant accounts doing business or connected with someone doing business with them.

But I haven't got a clue if that's right or wrong since I'm out of the loop too.

YOU ARE DEAD FUCKING WRONG, MAN!

It's over $477 and he was asking for tree fiddy, not $300. And it's a 30 page thread now. :)

ICC-Cal held a large amount of the Industry's business and this has definitely affected those who had high PPS and a network of xsales. It's a headache for those who have set up a number of merchant accounts to cross to, even if its back to themselves. I have had a lot more folks hitting me up for referrals for non-CAL MA's so personally this has been a positive thing for me, but I think the ramifications of it overall is not a good sign for the industry.

I know earlier in the year everyone was running to get overseas merchant accounts when it appeared that Humboldt could possibly go down as the banks were failing here. We were going to do it too...and then kinda backed off and took a "wait and see"

I was chomping at the bit to do it...but Celeste and Scott talked me down. I'm glad their level heads prevailed. Of course one never knows what may or may not happen. But looks like we dodged a bullet.

Now I just wonder how many programs that I am an affiliate of are gonna have trouble making payouts.

There are certainly some advantages to having an overseas MA. Hit me up if you want some options, I have some great rates with both domestic and overseas companies, one in particular that doesn't require a reserve and can payout daily.

It will be interesting to see how this all rolls out, hopefully your sponsors had non Cal merchant accounts set up to transition to seamlessly.
