Bing = fail

Some real world stats for this month:

Engine Hits Percentage
Google 279810 82.38962599%
Yahoo 34692 10.21500627%
Bing 25116 7.395367737%

So much for making massive inroads and mounting a real challenge in the search space. :1orglaugh

But, but, but, what about all them guys with great bing traffic?

Shenanigans.

XPays 12-13-2009 02:47 PM

not that i am rooting for m$, but the few bing sales we have gotten to a coffee site have had a nice average order size.

Agent 488 12-13-2009 02:48 PM

the bing results simply suck.

google results have gained quality due to being hammered by se spam and seos. there is a feedback loop between google and seos black and white which has resulted in simply better results over time.

EscortBiz 12-13-2009 02:50 PM

bing dont allow adult ppc, very interesting

if they did, they'd be making a lot more money :2 cents::2 cents:

2012 12-13-2009 02:56 PM

don't you like their tube? http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=boobs

gotekix 12-13-2009 03:00 PM

the bing search baffles me. The results can be so outdated and bland compared to google's.

Matyko 12-13-2009 03:01 PM

Bing brought me a few sales ..

thier shopping cashback program rocks.

d-null 12-13-2009 05:11 PM

bing surfers seem to be better quality, more willing to buy or click, less jaded perhaps :2 cents:

campimp 12-13-2009 06:01 PM

i have been pretty pleased with their cam traffic so far

uno 12-13-2009 06:13 PM

I'm shocked people still search on yahoo.

This is in my opinion because the majority of Bing users are older, more computer illiterate types. They haven't had time to be exposed to the options, and simply roll with the predetermined option their fancy new computers offer them.

area51 - BANNED FOR LIFE 12-13-2009 06:26 PM

Actually, that looks like a lot more fail for Yahoo considering it's been around since 1995 lol.

HerPimp 12-13-2009 06:39 PM

no room for AOL, Ask, Lycos, Altavista, Dogpile etc.. with those stats.

The more important thing is, what was their share last month? And next month?...

Bing may not have a huge [absolute] market share, but at least they've scared the big G into doing something different. How many "new" Bing-like features have been introduced to G recently? :D

Agent 488 12-13-2009 07:11 PM

the only search that is scaring google right now is twitter.

rowan 12-13-2009 07:30 PM

For some reason Yahoo and Bing don't seem to like my site... and cuil, that sent me 7 referrals all from the same IP! :1orglaugh

raw referral/unique IP
---
388580/289336 google 99.6%
836/674 yahoo 0.21%
524/393 bing 0.13%
7/1 cuil <indistinguishable blip> :1orglaugh

BING must remove adult sites from the index, because I searched for one of my sites using the keywords i'm ranked number one for and it came up with my site, but the domain tools page for that site, and then a couple of results from my add trade script as well, but the index page is no where to be found in the first hundred results. So weird.

HandballJim 12-13-2009 08:31 PM

yahoo's search engine still gives the best results in my opinion, but I can't stand that they are moving away from search and going for an all in one home page look. Way too much going on...still does not load correctly on my home computer. They should stick with becoming the leader in search and email...and they are losing ground everyday to google.

maybe you should turn off the safe feature,

Bing is still the worst, it spits out the worst results.

oberontepes 12-13-2009 09:11 PM

Bing is great for free porn. They should sell ad space on their pics and videos pages.

Ditto to these. I've found Bing to be alot like yahoo on a smaller scale. Even YHO doen't push numbers like GOOG, but it converts much higher / better ROI. :2 cents: :thumbsup

Relentless 12-13-2009 09:53 PM

7% of the entire search market is how many uniques per year?

I wouldn't say that sucks...

You're right, but its like going to town to buy a new Mercedes and coming home with a Lada.

PXN 12-13-2009 11:13 PM

i can never find what i want on bing.

Agent 488 12-13-2009 11:19 PM

a webmaster claiming they prefer bing traffic taht google is like a guy going to the bar, getting shot down by the hot girl he wants and ending up taking home a one-eyed club footed beast and claiming it was better he took home the beast because she gives two times the blow jobs than the hot chick did anyway.

CunningStunt 12-13-2009 11:56 PM

You guys and your analogies today are killing me. Seriously, comedy gold.

The analogy is all fine and dandy but in this situation it's something more along the lines of "the guy has been banging the hot chick for a long time, but still happily bangs the club footer on the side every once in a while, simply because she's a way better lay."

dirtymind 12-14-2009 04:46 AM

I can agree with that. I think my yahoo traffic is more productive for the same reason

From dictionary.com:
bing:
?noun British Dialect.
a heap or pile.

Anyone surprised that it's a heaping pile?

Fat Panda 12-14-2009 01:39 PM

bing fucking sucks

Doug E 12-14-2009 01:41 PM

The image on bing today is a fire fox. Im guessing they picked up some homepagers from the mozilla presidents words on google.

NetHorse 12-14-2009 02:00 PM

Bing shows up weird in my stats..It shows up as traffic from an external page from bing.com/search instead of as search engine traffic. It's not bad though, I get quite a bit of traffic from bing.
