Heading to Chicago. What is the weather like?

Leaving in 3 hours. I see it's 30 degrees, with some wind. What should I be wearing to stay warm enough?

bbwdollars 12-16-2009 10:51 AM

you need to buy your coat for chicago, in chicago.

xenigo 12-16-2009 10:53 AM

I picked up this. Am I gonna freeze to death? It feels relatively warm. Wasn't exactly the coat I wanted, though.

19, feels like 9. The feels like is what you have to worry about.

If you have never been there in December, well, you are in for an experience.

That will be fine as long as you wear a couple sweaters, thermal underwear, nice gloves, a scarf, and a knit cap along with it.

I picked up all of those, except for the sweaters.

My girlfriend's company is having their Christmas party there, so I'm her "arm-candy". Her words, not mine. lol

if you are going to a christmas party then you will be in doors most the time, nothing a coat wont fix for the short time you are outside, if you going to be wandering around id recommend some thermal underwear.

candyflip 12-16-2009 11:27 AM

You will be very cold wearing that.

Exactly my thoughts... I'll be mostly indoors. But during that time I'm outdoors, I'm sure I'll be cold as fuck... I'm just trying to prepare.

You will survive, what really sucks is when it's below 0 with 15-20mph winds. :disgust This shit is tropical, I'm walking around outside in my wife beater with my schlong hanging out.

goodgirl is trying to get me out there, and I will probably do it, but only to irritate the neighbors.

If you're going to be downtown, it won't be that bad, it's warmer by the lake.....:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

What part of town are you going to be in? There will be a bar every couple of feet, just bar hop your way around town.

Have a blast it's a great city

We're at the Wit hotel on State Street, downtown.

Haven't had much of a desire to actually leave the hotel yet... The cold is a little much. And frankly I haven't been feeling all that great either. Went across the street to a deli for lunch yesterday and I dressed pretty warm, figuring I was probably overdoing it... But even for just going across the street, I'm glad I was well insulated. lol We'll do some more thorough exploring this weekend.

I am wearing a cashmere / lambswool pea coat in Toronto, and it is plenty warm enough. Wooly hat and scarf to match, and it is almost hot!
