Not if you are doing exactly what you want to do.

Many people retire at an early age, but then take on things that they have a passion for and use their time to do the things they love, that in turn makes them happy and they are therefore living their lives to the fullest.

A man who spends 100 hours building a replica of the Empire State Building out of Lego's will be looked upon and some will say "Man he has a lot of time on his hands!"

Clearly this statement is untrue. He has no more or less time than anyone else. That is just how he chooses to spend his time. Some will say it is unwise, but in the end if that man is happy. He is the wiser man for choosing to spend that time.

Time is a mystery to us all as we will never know when it runs out for us.

How full is your hourglass? No one knows. Do the things you love and enjoy, and always make time for them. In the end no matter how full that hourglass is or how much time you end up getting. You will die a happy person.

MetaMan 12-17-2009 11:43 AM

dont ever forget the majority of the world is stricken with poverty. would you like to walk an hour to go get water? tell those people to "never forget to live"

this is such a selfish north american thing to think in this way.

more like be thankful you even have the chance to work.

MetaMan 12-17-2009 11:46 AM

we have evolved this way as humanity for a reason to advance the species. and you advance through work. it is human nature. to many people think of the individual not realize the collective picture.

Someone once told me, I live to work instead of Work to live.
I guess it's in our blood if we like what we are accomplishing.
