What's cool to do Friday night in NYC near JFK?
 

We have a 7-hour layover from 11pm - 6am at JFK tomorrow night on our way up to MOntreal, so wondering at that hour, what's something fun and cool to do or see, or any cool pubs/bars? Preferably not too far from the airport.

We had a really good time at this bar called Bourbon St. It's on Amsterdam Ave where all the college sluts go to party

Do they stay open later than 2? I figure time we get out of the airport and get there it'll be about 1am already...

I book my own flights, but from Costa Rica, not a whole ton of options...especially round this time of year.

Take a cab to the city to midtown and you will find everything you need.

There isn't shit to do around JFK unless you consider purchasing crack an adventure. Either wait it out at JFK or jump on the LIRR and roll into the city and you will be able to freeze your arse off until around 4AM when everything shuts down.

yeah, if you have some scratch you could get a cab over to manhattan and drink somewhere on the east side for an hour and a half - traffic won't be terrible at 1 am probably 45 minutes to the city - then you can eat at a diner and get a cab back with time to spare...
Not sure but there might be a flat cab rate too, maybe $50 plus tolls each way.
No cash? Stay put.

Never spent any time around JFK, might be better alternatives nearby but mostly some tough-ish areas around there.

you could get a taxi tour of Jamaica ...thats an experience you wont soon forget
