I saw AVATAR tonight. One of the best movies I've ever seen.

True fantasy land. I didn't want it to end. Incredible. Just incredible.

If you're into this sort of movie, you will LOVE IT!

Warning, it's over three hours long.

mvee 12-17-2009 04:34 PM

Looking forward to it. Taking my son and his buddies for his b-day on Saturday. the shitty part is you can only see the imax version in 3D.

This movie in 3D, if done well, in IMAX, will be INCREDIBLE!!!! Go see it!!!!!

Going to see it tomorrow, in 3D version, can't wait! :)

Brujah 12-17-2009 04:54 PM

Not at all. There is a lot of movement in it though. Maybe in IMAX it could happen, but a normal screen, I don't see it making you sick. I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. Didn't even want to run out to pee.

Horny Dude 12-17-2009 05:03 PM

Hell yeah, seeing it first thing tomorrow. Been dying to see this one.

Cool I can't wait to see it. :thumbsup

fatfoo 12-17-2009 10:18 PM

Over three hours long, yeah. Reminds me how we have so-called avatars on this forum.

This is random:
I love Karen O

shimmy2 12-18-2009 12:45 AM

i could be behind the loop here since i dont watch tv, but are you talking about avatar the kids cartoon or some other flick i have no idea about?

D Ghost 12-18-2009 01:39 AM

Cant wait to check it out. How goes it DWB?!

mynameisjim 12-18-2009 01:54 AM

Gotta give it to James Cameron. The dude believes in his own work and gambles bigger than anybody else, and always comes up gold.

Titanic was a huge gamble that paid off. Avatar was an even bigger gamble and it's looking like a huge success as well.

That dude is bad ass.

We spent exactly 3:20 in the room, sitting in a chair. I was thinking the movie itself was that long, but maybe the trailers were longer than usual.

If it says it's only 2:42, then so be it, that is still a long movie. I also stayed until the end of the credits.

NBBCash Matze 12-18-2009 03:03 AM

movie was nice and entertaining but the 3D thing was a little bit weird this time, I think the cinema didn't adjusted the projectors right. We had double contours, blurring and we all had headaches after the first hour. Few more people ran out during the presentation. The 3D effects were not so impressive in comparison to Bloody Valentine but the movie itself was great!

No I was thinking you saw some bonus stuff or something that i'd be looking for myself when I go check it out. You know like the 5 minutes of extra footage they show after all the credits roll or something silly like that...

Anyways.... sounds like a good time and can't wait to check it myself. :thumbsup

Waddymelon 12-18-2009 03:11 AM

I hate these long movies, my attention span is about 15 minutes then I'm ready to go do something more productive.

CaptainHowdy 12-18-2009 12:46 PM

From the trailer I bet it has a "tolerant" (liberal, multiculturalist, etc) message underneath... will check it out anyways.

WebairDanny 12-18-2009 01:56 PM

cant wait to see this in IMAX 3D , this movie really looks kickass

gleem 12-18-2009 02:20 PM

There were fags in the theater blowing and jerking each other off. I'd stay away from this flick unless you don't mind getting some jizz on ya. It washes out though, so fuck it.

Hell no, it's James Cameron. Unlike the fat shit Michael Moore, he has credibility. And yes, I got the Native American reference and was rooting for them anyway.

Klen 12-18-2009 03:06 PM

Back from projection, duration is exactly 2:30 minutes.
And yes movie is good you wont do mistake if you go watch it.And main blue female character is bangable :D

Phoenix 12-18-2009 03:08 PM

i cant wait to see it...got to get a babysitter..lol

fuck things have changed...imax 3d has to be the way as well

Zebra 12-18-2009 03:13 PM

Just got back from seeing it. The story was good and the characters believable. They weren't cartoon characters, they seemed like living breathing beings. I saw it on a digital screen in 3D and it was sooo good. Rather than things jumping out at you, the 3D works to pull you into the movie and give the movie that sense of reality that the old 3D movies could never do. I had to take a call in the middle of the movie and went into the lobby and it was like waking up from a good dream. After the first hour or so you dont even notice the 3D, it is like you are actually there.
It is good enough that I am going again tonight with my son. Don't listen to the people saying bad things about it without having seen it themselves.

Only 2:30? What country did you see it in? I saw it in Bangkok and it was close to 3 hours, maybe a little longer, though sometimes we get footage that gets cut out of the Western release for some strange reason. I think it's because Asians like longer movies.

born2blog 12-19-2009 12:06 AM

can't wait to see it myself, 3 hours long? that's awesome!!

JayAllan 12-19-2009 03:13 AM

I saw it yesterday in IMAX 3D. I usually hate 3D movies but this was Totally amazing! People in the theater were comparing it to the first time they saw Star Wars (the real one) and I see what they mean. Cameron never ceases to amaze me. It is easily in my top ten films of all time. Go see it :thumbsup

This will go down in the league of timeless movies, such as Star Wars did.
