The new ugly way to make money?
In the last couple of days I've been made a member of a number of dating sites I've never visited.
Some of these email address' I hadn't used for ages. Is this the new way to make money? One step better than cookie dropping, create free memberships from email listings and hope somebody upgrades :helpme |
I remember there was a site that was paying out for signing people up in the same way. They offered something like $0.25 per email signed up and confirmed so you just submitted a massive list and everyone that responded you got paid for.
Obviously you was meant to use an opt in email list but really just opened it up for spam. |

I am not sure people realize just how much this rips off affiliates.
Your surfers wants to join a site it will say he is already a member and would he like to retrieve his password. Instead of you the webmaster getting a sale, the spammer who never promoted anything but created thousands of free accounts will get the sale. :Oh crap |

Post the dating site and your account names here anyway, let the dating site check if these are confirmed or not. If a affiliate is doing this he needs to be shitcanned. This sorta shit does fuck it up for all affiliates, this is worse than cookie stuffing.

99.9% sure these memberships are confirmed anyway, already asking me if I want to upgrade. |
cookie dropping or cookie stuffing - suspect a bigger problem than one could imagine!
|
Without giving the dating site names away. Are they new sites or established ones? Could it be newly set up websites that have bought databases off the Internet or something?

From what I understand dating gold does not reserve a email to a affiliate until the account is confirmed. Not sure how other dating sites do this but I need to find out asap. If they reserve a email to a affiliate when a unconfirmed account is created then I will stop promoting that dating site, that's bullshit.

Yeah, you sign up emails for legal mail lists.
But you can't spam. |
Even using the API, the email should be verifyed by the owner by clicking on the link sent to his inbox.
5 min expiring e-mails shouldnt be used either |
Interesting info! :pimp
