I finally saw Inglorious Basterds

... and for a fantasy revenge flick, it wasn't too bad but I think it could have been a whole lot better too.

Worth the rental.

One of my favorite movies of the year...
I liked the intertwining stories. My favorite part was Brad Pitt's character trying to speak Italian.

Christoph Waltz owned that flick. Best performance of the year.

Europeans Billing Europe!

I'll have to rent that one :thumbsup

Don't go see "Everybody's Fine" unless everyone in your family really is :1orglaugh

Great acting, but a little too real - we thought it was a comedy... :Oh crap

I think "It's Complicated" will be a much better spirit lifter...

bronco67 12-21-2009 08:49 AM

the tavern scene rules!

fatfoo 12-21-2009 09:00 AM

I never saw it. Maybe I will see the movie some day.

SomeCreep 12-21-2009 09:09 AM

It was okay to see once. I may watch it again, if it's on cable.

Gasper 12-21-2009 09:12 AM

Great movie! One of the few this year that was really worth watching it

I wished it was an hour longer and had more story with the 'Basterds' and less with the movie theater girl.

:thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

I thought it was very good as well. A few very well done psychological suspense scenes like the opener and the restaurant. I'm looking forward to seeing all the edited scenes, but I heard they may be holding some of that over to wrap into a sequel.

MOvie was decent but Brad Pitt is overrated in this flick..I thought he was a bit ovefr the top and not funny.

The guy that played teh "Jew Hunter" was amazing....he was a great actor....he creeped me out, yet was funny, and charming all at the same time. That guy deserves and Oscar Nomination.

Evil Chris 12-21-2009 09:39 AM

Agreed on Pitt's character. Didn't like his Louisiana accent, just didn't work well for me. I have no idea why they chose for him to be from LA. Why not the north-west? Or Boston? They had so many choices for him.

Christopher Waltz owned that movie, I'd agree.

:1orglaugh That scene was killer. Everyone was howling at that one.

All & all I loved the whole movie, Quentin Tarantino sure knows how to make 'em.

I liked it. But as you said as a rental, don't plan to watch it again.

dmg44 12-21-2009 10:57 AM

I really like the movie, specially when they speak italian or when they take out of jail one guy.

But i feel bored the part of the girl of theater with the german soldier, i slept in that part.

LiveDose 12-21-2009 10:59 AM

Definitely renting it this weekend...

Jman 12-21-2009 11:00 AM

Just picked it up at DVD store.

Scott McD 12-21-2009 11:07 AM

Heard a few mixed reviews about it when it first came out so didn't bother checking it out...

dmg44 12-21-2009 11:11 AM

But the best part is when one of the bastards kill a soldier with a baseball bat!

andrej_NDC 12-21-2009 11:17 AM

I agree that it could have been better, Tarantino is way overrated lately.

datatank 12-21-2009 11:18 AM

pretty boring if you ask me

D Ghost 12-21-2009 11:38 AM

got halfway through it on the plane... need to finish, so far so good.

Adam Sandler was originally cast in that part, but had to drop out and was replaced by Eli Roth.
