Yeah, I like that video. It inspires me not to sing, because I have no singing talent, I think.

I wouldn't call that RAP and no artist has any real relevance until they have made the music charts in the US.
Here is the first artist to make the Billboard top 100 with a RAP song in 1981. I challenge anyone to find an earlier one :winkwink: |
The Watts prophets go back to the 60's.
|
LOL It's not Italian, it's not even a real language... The words were entirely made up, which is part of the genius of it :P

ha, i love this shit! i don't know if i would say its rap but still very good as for who rapped first..you could argue anything beat poets in the 50s... talking blues/wood guthrie in the 30s... curtis blow doing the breaks in the late 70s.. who knows. |

What I was trying to say is that in many interviews of international music artists most have said they don't consider themselves as having hit the big time until they have become a hit in the US. All things considered, the US music industry trumps all others world wide. So a home movie of someone doing some rap back in the 40s doesn't matter as much as someone that actually made the music charts. |
Congrats on your useless finding...

Italians are better at Chianti wines and Mozzarella di Buffalo, thank God :)
|
"you be comin up juicin my wife not sure hobo hopin just to get a lot clubbin on time"

The first one I heard was the Sugar Hill Gang with "Rapper's Delight" and that was 1979. Wasn't that the first commercially suuccessful rap record? |
weird video but nice tune
|
the italians fucking rock, love that video.
also i believe they were the first to do speed metal in 1977 with this track called "E Suono Rock" by Goblin. Its not all speed metal, that part comes in shortly after the 2 minute mark. Goblin is most well known for their horror sound tracks ie Suspiria, Deep Red and Dawn of the Dead. |

Blondie's " Rapture " was released in 1981 so if " Rappers Delight " was from 1979 they have her beat. BTW I have Rappers Delight on my ipod :thumbsup |
Hilarious clip
