Colombia is hit and miss, depends on the city. Costa Rica has a huge ex-pat community. Philippines is a 3rd world shit hole.

I've lived in all three and if had to choose one to return to, it would be Costa Rica or Colombia, with Colombia probably winning simply because it's a little rough around the edges in some areas, and I like that.

From what I've heard about these three places, Costa Rica..
I've known people from the Phillipines, and people who've been to Costa Rica..
I'd definitely be in Costa Rica in a fucking heartbeat if I could afford the move... fuck yeah

:thumbsup

kowalsky 12-23-2009 07:04 AM

I would choose Costa Rica.

eroticsexxx 12-23-2009 07:30 AM

The Bahamas.

kmanrox 12-23-2009 07:32 AM

ive only been to PI and it was a dump... that being said i have monger friends who've been to all these places and while thailand is usually their #1, they said by far columbina is their #2 in terms of a place they'd live if single...

h3ads.com 12-23-2009 07:45 AM

Costa Rica! :)

fuzebox 12-23-2009 09:01 AM

Because you've lived in Thailand, you would be disgusted with Costa Rica. There is no comparison.

If you don't want to keep it east and go to the Phillipines, then Colombia will be more what you're looking for.

dmg44 12-23-2009 11:42 AM

Hi

I am from Costa Rica.

And it is a great country to live, and because it is a small country everything is near, is you want to go to a mall to buy something you have to drive half hour as much, or if you wanna go to the beach they are a lot of options. If you are in the capital of Costa Rica, San Jose and you wanna go to the beach it will take you 2 hours to get to the beach. The peole is very nice and a lot of people are coming to here to invest and the best is the real state has really low prices.

Hope this help you to decide! hehe

undersoul 12-23-2009 11:46 AM

of those i would say costa rica

I've spent a lot of time in Colombia, been all over Philippines and currently reside in Thailand. Don't know much about Costa Rica.

Philippines: At one time I was thinking about moving there. I'm not sure what I was thinking and came to my senses. No disrespect to the guys who do live there, but outside of just a few select areas and natural zones, the places is a shit hole. Great pussy though, those girls love to fuck and speak English.

Colombia: If I was not making my money in Thailand, I would currently be living there. Colombia rocks.

Thailand: I'm here for the money. However, once the Thai tap runs dry, I'm heading back to Colombia, or if by that time Cuba is open, I may head there. Thailand, I hope, is not a long term solution for me.

Slappin Fish 12-23-2009 01:42 PM

Philippines, but only because I happen to like 3rd world shit holes :(

If I was looking for a country to settle down (even if only a little :winkwink:) it would be Colombia. Love the people there.

Well I'm assuming it's from a mongering perspective... The girls are overpriced for what you get and have bad attitudes. With very few exceptions, they are clock watchers and you will never get a true GFE. Americans only come here because it's close, the ones who discover Thailand usually never come back here. The beach towns are way overpriced and have very little residential options, so unless you want to spend several k a month living in a hotel, you have to live in the city, which is dirty, polluted, loud, and traffic packed.

Price-wise it's not much cheaper than living in the united states, in fact some things are more expensive. People who moved here 5 years ago to save money are leaving.

I've never been to Thailand, but I've compared notes with many people who have, it seems a lot nicer. Maybe the grass is always greener?

I speak enough to get around and get by, but I'm not fluent. If I can relocate there in a few years, I would fix that though. I'm stuck in Thailand for the time being, and FUCK ME that language is hard.

Colombia just has a certain charm about it. I can't put it into words, you just have to see it for yourself. I could write a book on why I love Colombia, but it wouldn't do it justice. You just gotta go and roam about!

Roby 12-23-2009 04:31 PM

Coasta Rica +1

MrMaxwell 12-24-2009 12:47 AM

Costa Rica has a dry and rainy season, but it's always warm (unless you're in the cloud forest, where it's *drum roll* cold...It's not Canada cold, but you need a sweater during the day and jacket on some nights...).

It totally depends where you are in Colombia...Bogota, the capital, is always a bit chilly because it's altitutde is 2,640 metres. i.e. When I first went, I got a bit of altitude sickness, but maybe I'm a puss.

Cyber Fucker 12-24-2009 01:48 PM

I've never been in any but If I had to chose I would chose somehow Coasta Rica.

james_clickmemedia 12-24-2009 01:58 PM

I have been to San Jose costa rica twice and it is not somewhere I would feel safe living. Its ok during the day however at night you have to take cabs everywhere even a 5 minute walk as so many tourists are getting robbed.

Naechy 12-24-2009 03:10 PM

Coasta Rica !

fuzebox 12-24-2009 04:06 PM

It's COSTA Rica, not coasta.

LatinCams 02-12-2010 08:25 PM

I Live in Colombia right now and it would stay so for a while.

I have visited many countries (Panama, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria)

And I have lived in Germany 13 years and in Texas 4 years.

Must say all those places are fine but for sure Colombia is one of the places in the world that you must visit. The people are so Friendly and Open, The girls are Beautiful and Easy to approach. Its Cheap to go arround or to Eat and you can have a Blast without spending much.

:)

react 02-12-2010 09:37 PM

Bob Costas Rica?

BIGTYMER 02-12-2010 09:41 PM

I've never been to the other two but Costa Rica is amazing!

Scat in the Hat 02-13-2010 04:03 AM

I've been in love with Panama for a while and have been spending a good chunk of the last couple of years here. For some reason I'm just becoming less and less impressed. Prices of almost everything seem to have gone way up since my first visit in 2007, and maybe it's just me but it just feels too "westernized" these days. Call me crazy but after spending a lot of time here, I almost feel like I'm just in another U.S. state sometimes.

I've got a friend in Colombia telling me the only reason I like Panama is because I haven't been to Colombia yet. Gonna check out Cartagena in a couple of months and will let you know how it is.

Oh please, maybe in the central/north but in the past 2 years I can count on one hand the times it rained for any extended period of time. You mostly get some heavy showers in the so-called rainy season that last no longer than an hour at a time.

Colombia, was there for about 6 months total- one day we were walking into the center of downtown bogota and saw two dead guys lying in a huge pool of blood in the driveway of a gas station. drug cartel hit. a bunch of 8 - 10 year old school kids were all standing around giggling and pointing at the bodies. pretty creepy. bogota is too freaking huge for me, over 9 million people just way too much for my liking. And the humanitarian crisis from the idiotic drug war (financed by u.s.) has made for countless thousands of refugees. check out amnesty international's write up on colombia's human rights situation...

although i gotta say i really loved the colombian amazon. Leticia, Mocoa and a little further north, San Agustin...incredible. small town in a beautiful valley and they have these insanely precise stone statues and ruins of a mysterious nameless civilization which vanished before the spaniards got there.

czarina 02-13-2010 05:55 AM

Costa Rica, definitely.

I've traveled to Colombia extensively and although it's a beautiful country, I wouldn't recommend living there because of the drug situation.

Why does someone always have to mention Death people when talking about Colombia ? Like there were not killings, or drive by shootings or murderers in other countries. Dont you look at news where you live ? ......... Some are even mentioning Pablo Escobar after 20 years.

Fuck Amnesty international why dont they writte about positive things and how the country has changed, and how the guerrilla has been almost exterminated, and how the country is living its peak point in last 60 years.

You are right, every country has its problems but you must know that the war on drugs is a complete joke.
U.S. gives Colombia 2 billion dollars a year to fight this hoax and it has only perpetuated death and misery.
