Google implements phone verification

For new accounts (gmail, etc). Just a heads up. I guess the gmail spamathon was getting old.:thumbsup

Given their size, the SMS costs are a drop in the bucket.

The big question is who else will follow their lead.

Regardless, if the traffic/money is there, a PVA market will appear. Doubt this? Think Craigslist and FB, among others.

Interesting, is it one account for one phone number? Lots of people use multiple accounts for legit reasons, including me.

Probably has more to do with their ad programs... more specifically, the abuse of such programs.

You mean because of stuff like this?

I doubt that the hosting company or whoever is paying full price for the AdWords credits ... wouldn't surprise me if Google subsidizes some of that and loses out in the end, too.

I noticed this few month ago and I have 5 gmail accounts on One phone number, so it's not against Spam I guess.

d-null 12-22-2009 07:08 PM

marketsmart 12-22-2009 07:25 PM

Then you'll probably need to get all your dupes authorized.... either way, the legit ones will have the patience to get them approved, the spammers will move onto the next service, as spammers have no patience. Time is money. :2 cents:
