Judge dismisses petition requiring the use of condoms in XXX films

FYI ---

A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge Tuesday dismissed a petition seeking a court order to compel county public health officials to require condom use on porn sets or take other reasonable steps to stem the spread of disease.

The petition, filed by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, contended that the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has "passively observed an ever-growing epidemic" within the porn industry.

"Words alone cannot fight disease," the petition said. "For over a decade, county health officials have talked, watched, written and analyzed. What county health officials have not done is act."

Judge David P. Yaffe rejected the petition, noting that the county has broad discretion in how it oversees public health.

Interesting...

What are your thoughts on the Free Speech Coalition's proposed "Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Plan?"

That is good news. Everyone in this business is an adult and knows the risk. No one, and I mean no one, should rely on AIM to save their life. Either make porn or don't. Stop begging for others to hold your personal responsibility.

ADG, the FSC has been and always will be useless. The only reason they stepped to the plate, is because if condoms were mandatory, LA would shut down, and that means FSC would shut down. Translated, no more money for them.

FYI: The AIDS Healthcare Foundation is not the same organization as the AIM (Adult Industry Medical) Foundation...but thanks for playing. :winkwink:

You missed my point. I said people should not put their life in AIMs hands and expect AIM to protect them, because testing has flaws.

I didn't comment anything on AIDS foundation. I don't give a piss about them.

BTW... I used to fuck Sharon Mitchell back when she was just another porn whore. I'm amazed she is running a clinic.

This just shows you how little porn people are really here. This is huge news for Porn Valley and nobody is even posting about it. None of you were hardly talking about it even when it was a maybe, and would change the face of the business.

Sad.

Thanks for the scoop Michael. I'll be getting with you after new years.

For the LA people, you dodged bullet. Go have a drink.

this is huge news... i know several of the big agents have had fundraisers to use for defending this case, looks like they won.
they actually reported this on NPR this morning.

LA Porn has dodged the bullet for now..

Did the AIDS Healthcare Foundation provide any figures? Such as 1% of the porn industry has AIDS, or 2%, etc?

This is an interesting topic.

i think the number is much much lower than that.
albeit it might different how you look at it, meaning are ALL porn performers included in the survey incl gay/TS/TG etc.

condoms and porn... if LA forces condoms in porn the industry will move to AZ and LA will lose the $$ generated by the industry... if OSHA forces condoms on porn the industry will move to Mexico and then there will be NO rules at all :)

you have a 100% better chance of picking something up off a bar/club/party girl than an adult model $.02
