Is that even possible? Is the oldest search engine even 22 years old?

I did a Google search, and the oldest search engine out there, at least what they claim as to be the oldest, is 1993... Not sure about you but I don't think that's 22 years....

As others have pointed out this has been used in business likely since the beginning of advertising. Open your phone books and you'll see it all over the place. The only thing this show is the experience of the OP.

I don't know of any SEO webmasters that deal with adult that have '3-4' employees that they use for listing experience. (like "We have 6 people with combined 30 yrs exp")

Any of them that are worth a shit don't advertise how much they know, what they know, or how long it took to develop the knowledge.

If they say they are a team and has that many years of experience combined, that's fine. It could however be someone embellishing (lying about) their experience, which happens all the time too, especially in SEO with people claiming they can get #1 for a term like poker. :1orglaugh

I agree, it is somewhat misleading the way it is worded. Normally, if it is 'combined' experience, it is mentioned as such.

Something that a lot of people/companies do, is to add the years together of the people they have on board. So if you have 2 guys with 6 years each they say 12 years.. 12 sounds soooo much better than 6. In their opinion. But its usually nice to say Combined.

If the person is including the old stuff such as Archie, Gopher, WAIS, Veronica and their predecessors (i.e. PennInfo, CUInfo, etc.) then it's possible to go beyond 22 years.
