I don't recall Adult Buffet charging for listings. Did they evolve to that? Man, used to love getting two top 10 listings a day with them.

I actually hotlinked some of her banners and link code just to have a look like my site was good enough to get a corporate sponsorship!) Yep I said it....

I have been on the internet before it was the internet. I started back in the early BBS and telnet days initially. I have been on the 'web' since it's existence. I have been in this industry since May of 1997 after finishing college.

I started with a celebrity site. Then bought some content and feeds and did a few foot fetish pay sites. As well as the other learning things of the day. I have dabbled in just about everything at one time or another.

I worked 18 hours days. The full time gig in telco, then came home and endlessly worked on my sites. A lot of trial and error. I went into this full time 6-7 years ago and started the production company.

When people still used 14k modems and went to BBS like "TheGeneral". Our first domain was "monsveneris.com" which I think we owned in like 95 or so. Prehistory for sure.

Before we parted ways he had said he wanted to get out of adult for religious [I suspect family though] reasons. I agreed to manage all the adult operations and he handled software development and the mainstream side of things.

When I called it quits I guess he had no reason to keep the adult side going and it just kind of went away. I don't think I have talked to him since the day I said I was leaving.

as much as i love you i have to newstamp ya! my first modem was like 200 or whatever, 300 baud? the 14k baud modem upgrade felt like being i was directly tapped into MaeWest-like speed experience.. dont even get me started on the orgasm i almost had when i got my first ISDN installed... whoohaaahh

I'm not 100% sure when I started, my first website was about the game Diablo 1, turn quickly into an adult site, it was also possible to buy .cc domains paid monthly.

I was either 16 or 17 when I made my first website for a client that got featured in a newspaper because it had auto starting background music ( non adult )

300 baud was my first modem also. Upgraded to a 1200 baud.

My first paysite (Exotic Amy) went live in early 2000, although I was a contributing member to a BBS called Burn This Flag since 1993.

In 2001, I launched my second solo site (Jenna Joy), and in early 2003, I launched Asian Diva Girls. I currently own and operate (or have under development) six Asian niche paysites.

Yeah big Kudos for pointing them out. They may have been there. Amateur Hardcore was and also maybe one of the very first sponsors. Xpics may have not quite been running on Oct 31, 1997 is my gut feeling but maybe they were.

Very few people we doing adult BBS's especially compared to what the Internet is now.

Even fewer were shooting their own content as I was. Most of them were stealing their content from McHenry and such.

I think it was unique, not raw, but they allowed blind clicks (which I found out when they were finishing that campaign so couldn't get on board with that)

Being a porn affill has its "seasons" for sponsors. They all seem, at the time, like they will go on forever.. :)

And the Worldsex thing rings a bell.. a very faint bell..

The secret was to work in the 90's (anything worked!) and read the boards in the early 2000's even up to now as lots of good stuff on boards. BUT, in those days we all were (seeking the answer on boards) which was traffic.

A simple link list tended in those days like PK, a couple trades, and you were In Like Flynt.

But the boards were facinating in those days. :)
