Just moved all my domain away from Moniker
:glugglug :thumbsup

Ok, why?

hit up bari.

The last straw was privacy dropping off from half of the domains for no reason whatsoever. Not expired or turned off, just completely stopped working. |
Where did you go?
|
their support is horrid
|
i was just fucking around. everyone posts that until she shows up around post 48.
|
Where did you move to?
The only gripe I have about Moniker is its clunky and slow interface... and the multiple "check your WHOIS is correct" notifications. (It's exactly the same message each time, they don't even mention the domain!) Just minor shit though... it's not like I need to log in every day. |

My Moniker ones also list the domains in the email too. Don't know why yours wouldn't. |

I found an older notification and REALLY looked at it hard this time. In that one there ARE domains listed... so either I'm blind, or something went wrong with the template more recently.
When I click on the dom and log in the WHOIS info shows the domain belongs to "Moniker, Privacy Services" :1orglaugh The registrar should just get me to verify my default account settings, and warn if any domains have details that differ. |

GD is the best

You pay a premium for support that doesn't exist. Seems like a bad deal to me. I'd have switched a long time ago myself.

Yes, I moved my domains from Moniker as well. :thumbsup

So I guess I'm the only one with domains still with moniker? :)
|
I still have domains with moniker.Privacy is not so important to me.

I decided on Moniker. Very happy so far.
Great prices and all seems well. Interface is a bit clunky and you have to make sure you check the right options such as auto renewal on/off. Little stuff. I think they are best if you don't want any options. As the added options can add up in cost. And maybe cause some problems. :) Someone else said settings were changing on them as well. Anyhow, I like how they keep notifying you every day or so with transfers. Seem to me to be a very solid system. Also if you have no other options such as url forwarding, privacy, ect their price of 8.02 for a basic reg and around $7 for transfers is right up my alley. Anyhow sorry to hear about your experiences. Namecheap was my other choice. GD isn't all that cheap unless you do volume altho there are some decent discount pages to get the first year cheap but renewals with them are a bit high. Renuals only 8.02 at Moniker with no volume restrictions. |
So, some people are saying Moniker is bad support, some people saying Moniker is good.
I guess I'll have to try it for myself to find out - Neo style. |
Also worth note, alot of real big accounts with M as we know. They have a real nice push system as well I see.
Can't hurt to be hosted where the mega players (and domain buyers) host. :) |
I use Moniker...
|
its all about dynadot.com
|
I use namecheap, been using them over 3 years, they are best and friendly in the business. Sometime you ask for coupons and they just give it to you. What more do you need a domainer :).
As for godaddy, they are fucking biblebelts, They once refused to register a domain, because it insinuated like a trade name, a week later I see the domain show up in their parked pages. What ever. Moniker I tried while ago, it was too complicated for me to use, specially when it came to domain transfers ect. So I dropped it. I will go with namecheap for domains. reasonably priced, good customer service. |

I still have about 10 domains with Moniker, and the account is good to have since most domainers use moniker or fabulous. But Godaddy is what I use...just makes sense to use the largest register in the world. |

Look them up at some true domain forums and read all about'em Mike |
registerfly is good.

Strange how you guys all have these verification problems, or multiple verifications. The only time I ever seem to need to verify my domain information is when I buy a new domain and the old info on the domain is wrong, and it's obvious a fake name was used. Once I put my real information into it, i've never had to re-verify it ever again... and i've had domains for 5 years now, and never had to re-verify them, so sounds like something else is going on that your not telling us....
|
Seems like the weekly Moniker support or lack of thread .......I wonder why they will not invest in 24/7 support ? ..im sure its needed and they are not a small corp ...:(
Beats me ! :Oh crap |

Moving my domains FROM GD to Moniker
GD has the worst web interface in the world. And too many upsells. |
I have over 250 domains in moniker and around 100 in godaddy, besides that i find both interfaces no intuitive at all, I can't really find any difference or advantage to use any of them or to move away, besides price as to renew as much domains cost a good amount yearly.
I must admit i just login into my registrars once in a while and never need support, it's not like hosting. But now that you talked about it, i'm going to check my domains privacy. I was a registerfly customer in the past and almost got caught in their troubles, compared to them, everything else looks fine to me. |
my vote goes for namecheap.com. i just transferred 14 more domains a few minutes ago from GD to NC [coupon code 'switch2nc' -> $6.99 transfer]. Namecheap interface is extremely FAST and easy to use, their support is kind and helpful [as fast as MojoHost's!! ;)]. Now I have less than 50 domains @ GD and more than 90 @ NC :)
