Yemen, will you please take the spotlight
Yemen was not named as part of the "Axis of Evil".
Yemen was not named as part of "Beyond the Axis of Evil". Yemen was not named as part of the "Outposts of Tyranny". But then again, why would it? It's not popped up on that many radars. It did have some terrorist activities on its land in the past. But then again, Britain had that. And Spain. Many others too, so it's just another country that's had some terrorists active within its borders. It's not even linked to State terrorism, nor State-sponsored terrorism (unlike the US and the UK). Yet, because it has some internal instability problems with tribal rebellions and stuff, Clinton decides to speak out and tell the "Yemeni government had to take measures to restore stability or risk losing Western support." The US closed its embassy in Yemen, the UK did the same on the same day. The new US puppet-wannabe, France has just done the same. Quote:
Is this real international peace and well-being being promoted or is it Obama trying to flex some muscles? Whatever it is, it stinks. Again. |
OH, those Crazy Yemenis:Oh crap
|
Welcome to Bush's third term.

On the conservative forums, they are criticizing Obama for not staying and showing more backbone. They think this is leading to the destruction of US sovereignty. Of course, you know that if he didn't close the embassy and there was a terrorist attack, they would blame him for NOT closing it. Obama simply will never be able to win in the eyes of the far right, which is why he should just do what Bill Maher so eloquently said on REAL TIME -- he should just govern and forget about trying to appease the idiots who will never be appeased. We won; you lost. Go FUCK yourselves!

the US could just deal with the root of the problem instead of trying to kill everyone that isn't them

I totally agree with that. |
Connect the dots?

not a bad deal for Yemen.. look at how much money Iraq and A-stan got for a 'change of government'

Seems like I remember a few years ago, some radicals in an inflatable boat loaded with explosives blew a hole in the USS Cole warship in a Yemen port and killed 17 US sailors.
I think that should have put them on a watch list or something, even if it did happen before 9/11. Oh yeah... it was by the same bunch of guys that flew planes into the World Trade Center just 11 months later. |

Itīs funny to hear how powerful countries talk about a little peace of land 95% full of sand. Idiots! Have nothing better to do so they talk about this...
|
Imagine that... Yemen launches major offensive against al Qaeda.

Similarly, an Al Qaeda Brit tried to blow up an airliner laden with people on its way to the US. I think that should have put the UK on a watch list or something. :2 cents: |
