Dollars4Gold - legal pawn shop for jewlery theives?

think about it

dollars4gold.com

so lets say i steal some gold and diamonds and i'm a dumb theif...

i send it to dollars4gold.com and they melt it within 10 days according to their website and send me some money. I don't have a clue what it's worth and am happy to get anything they send me.....no evidence..... not like the police could EVER get their act together for another province in 10 days - just wont' happen..

so I'm thinking this is just a legal pawn shop for jewelry for thieves.....

thoughts?

Yes you could use them but I think most thieves are smarter than that and know they will be leaving a paper trail plus you only get only about 15 percent of the value from places such as Dollars4Gold....

You can be sure thieves have better outlets to dispose of thier goodies. !!

My understanding is that some online companies that deal in gold/jewelry for cash, don't even bother to send you money, and claim that it must have been lost in the mail... :disgust

most people who would so something like that need a quick fix and dont exactly want to wait around for their money.

i'm sure there are plenty of sites that profile how dollars4gold works, try ripoffreport.

If you have gold most jewlers will pay you cash instantly, and likely more than dollars4gold but thats just my theory.

My guess would be they give you some lame lowball quote then ask for huge shipping fee's / handling to send it back if you dont accept their crap offer.

nah, thieves use craigslist or ebay :1orglaugh

hard times eh man?

Why send it there, when the thief can just goto a regular pawn shop and probably make more, and get cash. From my understand they send everything registered or signature required courier and send you a check.
That's a nice paper trail, if the thief ever gets caught all previous transactions could come back to haunt them.
