Image editing gurus - inside please

What I need to do, if it's even realistically possible, is to remove the label on that jug without putting something over it and basically make it look like it never had that label. Naturally, someone with absolutely no clue about image editing is wanting me to do this.

I myself am a self-taught Photoshop amateur, and all I really know for getting rid of anything is smudge tool and/or copying reasonable blank areas surrounding it and pasting into it, but thanks to that damn handle, that seems extremely hard to do for this and make it look remotely natural without spending many hours. Any thoughts?

P.S. - I MAY be able to get away with putting a non-clear label over it (probably would be a mostly black label) BUT the handle would obviously be going over the label, so that doesn't really seem much if at all easier, but if you think it IS easier, how would that be done more easily than combinations of smudge and copy/paste?

Heh, yea that's about how good I figured I could get it to look. Someone ended up helping me a bunch and did the stamp/clone part of it. I took what he did and used smudging plus some more stamp/clone and this is what I ended up with:

I could spend more time and make it better (especially the liquid line in the handle - kinda rushed through making that better), but fwiw for the full photo this is a part of to show on screen it's at about 20%, so this IMO is serviceable.
