sitedepth apparently sold??

Having problems getting in touch with Omar...just got this response from support on the site:
"WontonMedia has recently acquired full ownership of SiteDepth.com, the name and its' products."

Does this mean that the money I paid Omar to integrate sitedepth onto one of my sites is gone along with Omar?? will the integration ever be done?? I paid Omar 11/18/09:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

almost two months ago?

ruasickpuppy 01-08-2010 07:58 PM

Yeah..he just called me though and said its almost done...he's been really good before so I will keep you informed:thumbsup

Is Omar still involved with Site Depth? They were supposed to start a project that I paid them for in OCTOBER and they weren't able to do it, so I really need to get my money back.

Last I knew little O was working on some new kind of accounting software. It had been in development for some time. I wanna say 18 months, but I really can't recall. He had showed me one of the early demo's.

I have not talked to him in some months, so not sure what is up with little O and SD.
:Oh crap

miss_bellabellini 01-08-2010 09:13 PM

Well I last spoke with him on December 17th 2009 and he assured me that I would be getting my money back. Hopefully the new owners honour past agreements since I did buy the multi-license option and paid them to do some template changes that they never did.

ummmmmmmmmmm

Ha, we had to get legal with Omar. Avoid him if at all possible. A buyout would be good news if you ask me.

For what its worth O's been good to me. Sometimes takes a minute to get back... but he always comes through. Seems a good dude.

I've personally actually worked all my sitedepth stuff with alfredo, I did send mail to the new sitedepth owners about upgrading etc..but not sure if I sent it to the right addy. The addy the mail came from bounced.

Alfredo's email never worked for me. It always bounced and I always worked with Omar. I've sent queries to Omar about the money I'm owed and haven't heard anything back yet, so I've also contacted the new owners to try and resolve this issue.

It probably was but Omar chose not to share that information with people he was currently doing business with and paying him.

Anyway, I have spoken with Rico and I feel confident that I'll get this resolved. Site Depth is a good CMS, it just lacked proper management. I'm sure this will change under Wonton Media.

Unfortunately I had to go elsewhere because Omar didn't communicate fully with his customers, but it will still work out for me. Communication is key people, even if you are having problems! People are usually understanding. If I knew what was coming late December I would have saved some money and stuck with Site Depth.

I had Alfredo make several mods for my SD and after a recent upgrade to MySQL 5 my SD works fine but I am having an issue with my tour MOD. Based off the error something in the code needs to be changed to work with MySQL 5. This should be an easy fix, however, the new owners cannot fix because all the mods that were done are encrypted. When Omar sold SD he gave the new owner the unencrypted version of SD but they are telling me they had no idea that mods had been done for a lot of people and that they were all encrypted. The new owners have no encryption key and apparently cannot get anymore help from Omar or Alfredo. Has anyone else had any such issues? I paid a lot of money for SD and all the mods and now I have no working tour so I can't even get new sales right now. Luckily the mods in my members area are all working fine(for now).

I guess it is sold from what you say.

bigpappa17934 04-16-2010 09:32 PM

I heard that they are selling it as a program with support now. Instead of a one time cost, it is a annual or monthly free. I could be wrong, but that is what I heard.

That's correct. PimpRoll owns it.

They are now offering an upgrade. If you take that upgrade, you will now be paying an annual license for the software. If you do not, you will eventually pay for support.

bigpappa17934 04-16-2010 09:39 PM

It's also a little more user friendly with the upgrade and having someone to call and discuss with when having security issues is helpful.

Jakke PNG 04-17-2010 12:48 AM

Their support ticket system is horrid. I've sent them like, well.. I'd say half a dozen questions regarding my 2 copies. They're replied to maybe 2, and when I re-replied to those..no more answers. It sucks ass.

I liked it when I could just hit alfredo up on messenger and have things sorted.
